There are 2 big sales coming up in mid-September in Eden Prairie and St. Louis Park, and you price and tag your own items and keep a minimum of 70% of what your stuff sells for. Try a site called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. It's instant gratification instead of waiting for an annual event lik e"Mommy and Me". As long your things are in good condition they don't turn down anything because of brand, size or season. They take everything unlike resale store like Once Upon a Child! They give you points to shop on the website and send the clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist, tag sale, etc.

Have you heard of the Just Between Friends (JBF) sale? They have them twice per year in different locations around the metro. You consign your own stuff (choose your own prices and tag them yourself) and make 60-70% of the sell price. I haven't sold anything that way yet but have gone to the sales a few times. It's packed with moms! There are literally thousands of moms that go there. I think it's great and have gotten a ton of great stuff there but again, I'm not sure what it's like from the selling side. Prices vary since everyone is tagging their own, but prices seem pretty similar to once upon a child. The big difference is the profit margin and the fact that YOU choose which items to sell and for how much. Hope this helps!

Craigslist is alot of tidious work but that's what's worked the best for me. Try and sell your things in lots like a lot of this size or that size that's the easiest. Give detailed descriptions of what your selling for example. 1 size5T striped Gap shirt

I can't stand once upon a child they're stores are to tiny and crammed and they don't take anything. It's insulting what they do offer me for my things. Yet when I shop in there I sometimes find what I'm looking for and sometimes not. I've seen tons of Walmart brand clothings but they won't take my name brand stuff? That's what irks me. If I wanted walmart brand clothing I'd just go buy it brand new and I have but I'm not going to go buy a used walmart brand shirt that's overpriced sorry. I will spend good money on a quality brand used item that retails for alot like gymboree or what not.

Uggh, I'm tired of Once Upon A Child right now. I brought in 2 boxes of fall outfits. All of them were Gymboree and Old Navy. I washed them to get the wrinkles out, folded them, stacked them together in outfits, and brought them in. Many of the outfits still had tags on them (gifts that didn't fit in the right season, and obviously I didn't wash them but they had been hanging in the closet the whole time). They took a few things (at about 40 cents a piece), and told me they couldn't take the rest because they couldn't find any matching "outfits" (um, try the 2 pieces that are the same fabric and folded TOGETHER in the box) and that the stuff was too "worn" (um, it has TAGS on it or was worn literally ONE to TWO times). I'm really choosy what I bring there in the first place, and I bring the rest to Goodwill or give it away for free. I saw a friend of a friend there after they rejected all of my stuff, so I pulled a few brand new Gymboree outfits with tags out to give to her. While I was doing this, 3 other moms came over and said, "They wouldn't buy this, they are crazy!" and bought stuff right out of my box! The Once Upon A Child ladies sat there looking amazed. The one lady was saying, "Oh, I didn't realize that was an outfit!" (Um, the shirt has a train on it that matches the overalls with the train on it and the fabric on the lining of the overalls is the same exact pattern as the shirt and they are folded together in the box...)Anyway, I can't help you on how to sell it because I can't condone selling in the line at Once Upon A Child (hee hee), but I do feel your pain!

Well, they don't take anything that is old or has ANY visible imperfection whatsoever. Towards the end of summer they don't take summer stuff. Towards the end of winter they don't take winter stuff. It's better to sell clothes for a certain season right before the season starts. They also do not take things under 12 months that are not whole outfits. When you go into their store, their racks are packed. You can hardly move the hangers to look at things. Plus they have more in the back- so obviously they can afford to be picky. I am really sick of them honestly, but it is unlikely you would get $.85 to a dollar or more per item anywhere else. I've had the best luck when I wash things beforehand and stack them neatly to try to avoid any wrinkles, but they've never taken more than half of what I bring in even though it is good stuff. I've tried craigslist, garage sales, a moms site, etc. but almost everyone wants things dirt cheap [$.50 cents or less a piece!] or they are fishing for free things. Which is fine- hey I want things for next to nothing too. But I need the money to buy new clothes! And asking $1.00 for a sleeper is not unreasonable. Anyway, you could try craigslist. Otherwise I don't know of any other option. I look forward to the responses as well

That's funny you say that. I have gone to several different OUAC stores many times and seen things on the racks that stained, dingy and outdated.

I know that there is a sale in Maple Grove called Just Between Friends. I haven't participated with it but have heard that it is easy to do. Basically you price your stuff for what you think are fair amounts, drop it off, and they sell it for you. You pick up your things and your check when it's done.
