I have a very large open foyer with a curved staircase that leads to the second floor. Since I've lived in this home that wall has been bare because I just couldn't figure out what I want on the wall BUT I finally figured out what I wanted to put on the wall... I want to get some candid photos taken of our family and then I'd like to get those photos printed probably by a commercial printer very large and very vertical... almost like a long, narrow tapestry so I'm thinking they'd have to be printed on something like vinyl perhaps?
I'm trying to find a place to get somethign like this printed... does anyone know?
Do any of the photographers on the board know where such an animal can be created?
I need someone to take the pictures too. :) If you have recommendations on a photographer that would release the rights to the images for a reasonable flat rate fee so that I could have someone reproduce them so large... I'd love to know!

I have a friend who had some black and white photos blown up, they looked great. She had them done at Kinko's of all places and I think she said it cost about $1.50 per picture. So you could try there. You might get a bit better quality at a place like Thomas Repro but not sure what their prices are like.

My family and I used a lady out of the DFW area her name is Kendra.
She charged us $100 for to take the pictures and for the disc with all the images so we could print them how and when we wanted.
I loved her, I have paid in the $300.00 range before for family pics and didnt get half of the pictures as she gave me! She also got all my kids to smile and caught me and my hubby when we looked our best =)

Last year I used a place called Dot Photo (www.dotphoto.com). I had three candid photos, from a photo shoot with my daughter and I, blown up into huge poster size black and white photos that I framed and have two of them hanging in her bedroom (stole the idea from the Pottery Barn catalog!). Anyway, they were really reasonable. I paid around $40 for all three prints including shipping. I would use them again.
