I'm sure it's a no no but my daughter is almost 11 months old and sleeps with a light blanket, a heavy blanket, And a few stuffed animals. Usually one ends up strategically under her head, and I wonder when kids can start to use pillows?

What can I do next?

The pediatrician told me there is no set age, but he thought it was safe when my son could go from laying down to sitting up on his own. By then kids have control of their head and neck, and are able to lift their face out of the pillow if needed. He recommended that it be a firm pillow, not a soft fluffy one.

My daughter sleeps with me...so theres an abundance of pillows on my bed. She seldom uses one, but if she does, its the one that has the dora pillow case on it, and it's flat as a board.

Its my favorite pillow, that she took over lol. My dad used it in vietnam, and I got it when I was a kid. So that thing has been thru hell and back. Even though its gross looking and tattered, we still use it, wash it and sew it back up lol.

Our daughter was in a bed when she was 1 year old.(she could scramble out of her crib like a monkey) She then had pillows and loved them.

We gave my daughter a pillow when she moved to her toddler bed (26 months) and had a very hard time sleeping. she kept waking up, like she couldn't get comfortable. we got rid of it, and gave it back 9 months later when she moved to her twin bed. she still ends up sleeping below the pillow! if your daughter is comfortable with the stuffed animals and sleeps fine, just go with it. they aren't used to a pillow anyway....

My son's bedding set came with a smaller pillow- about the size of the 'one step ahead' one. He started using that at maybe 18 or so months. Then at 2.5 years he started using a regular pillow- or a pillow pet, he likes to switch back and forth.
