My son has absolutely grown out of the tv shows he used to love (The Backyardigans, Bubble Guppies, The Berenstein Bears). He hasn't been watching much television lately, but I'm just curious what tv shows boys are watching these days.

What can I do next?

My 6 year old likes Ninjago, Ben 10, Spider-Man, Scooby Doo, Spongebob, Max and ruby. He'll occasionally still watch the Little einsteins and Caillou but prefers Super hero things.

I would say if he's not watching much, that's a good thing!

My son is 6. He loves "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That" and also enjoys "Martha Speaks". That's about it for regular tv-- he also likes the Reading Rainbow dvds and likes the nature dvds I get from the library.

my son was into wild kratts and spongebob never really got into ninjago or those. he loves river monsters, and anything dealing with animals on the discovery channel which is why he probably really liked wild krats.

My son just turned 7 and he loves "Crash and Bernstein". I think it is a bit gross at times, but nothing inappropriate. In one episode one of the characters was home sick and was vomiting purple. Like I said, I thought it was gross, but my son thought it was the funniest thing ever.

We don't have cable and my son is older as he's nearly 9. He has liked for a while PBS shows like Wild Krats, Martha Speaks, Arthur & Cyberchase. He also likes Sonic the Hedgehog. On Netflix he will watch Phineas & Ferb, Hey Arnold!. My 6 year old daughter also likes the same TV shows as him.

We don't have cable, so it limits our options a bit. My son (and many of his friends) really love the PBS show Wild Kratts. Phineas and Ferb (on Netflix) is another favorite.

mine loves curious george - which is about the only "little kid" show left that he hasn't deemed too babyish. he likes all the superhero ones now. transformers, and he loves lego ninjago. oh and dreamworks dragons, riders of berk. phineas and ferb, and he loves Electric Company. for movies he's into all the spiderman movies, star wars, some harry potter but i don't let him watch more than the first couple, after that they get pretty dark. oh and speaking of dark, he loves lord of the rings (my mom let him watch that one). crazy kid.

Anything on Disney XD. His favorite is Phineas and Ferb. He is also very into Ninjago, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, etc. Outside of the kids shows he likes Man vs Food and Wipeout. he still watches some of the ones you mention primarily because we still have a 2 year old so I have to limit the older stuff.

My 6 yo son watches sports, it started when he was 5 (Football, basketball, hockey, baseball...anything sports)
I've seen him watch golf.

I like that he has to read the team name and scores. It has been awesome to see that really wants to read and how much he has evolved over the past year.

My 6 year old will watch Curious George with his little brother, and occasionally the Ninja Turtles. But I encourage him to watch the old ones on DVD because the new ones, while they look cool, are just NOT the same. I prefer the personalities of the old ones (the new turtles can be kinda jerky sometimes), and my son thinks it's hilarious to hear the slang from "the old days" when mom was young. All 4 of us also love to watch the 12-15 DVD collection we have of all the old Looney Tunes cartoons every once in awhile. Those things are still so funny, but we've not gotten through half the DVDs yet, and I bought it 7 years ago...

We don't watch much TV but he loves movies (Karate Kid, Star Wars, and nearly anything with action, adventure, or comedy). He does like to sit with us and watch occasional shows on Nat Geo, History, Smithsonian, or Military history channels (Planet Earth, How They Do It, WW2 stuff especially involving planes, history shows about Alexander or the Roman Empire, etc). But his absolute favorite? Malcolm in the Middle reruns (yeah...we're not great parents, but it's a very funny show, lol).

We are pretty picky, and we only do Netflix, which means were have a LOT of control over what my sons have access to.

When my oldest (now 8) was 6-7, he enjoyed Arthur and Curious George. He also liked Super Why and Word World, Pocoyo, and a few others. Lately, we've been watching old cartoons like "Spider Man and His Amazing Friends" and "Godzilla and Godzooky" and a few French Belgian cartoons that Netflix just got. He really likes "Spirou and Fantasio".

ETA: The French Belgian ones are in English.
