What Toddler Potty/Seat Do You like Best?

We really like the Primo 4in1 seat/step stool (got it for about $20-25 through Amazon). Worked great as a stand-alone potty for my son, and now that he's been potty trained for a while, he can put the removable seat on the regular toilet by himself, and uses the main part as a step stool for the toilet. Would definitely recommend it.

The one I ended up purchasing is this one, and I am so glad that I did. I never had to purchase a step stool for the bathroom sink, or a separate seat to transition to the toilet. Another plus, it has a nice soft cushion for their little bottoms. All that, and its waaaay cheaper than most others. It comes in a cute pink now that was not available when I bought ours 2 years ago. Just as well, I am having a boy next, lol

I've potty trained a lot of kids as a Nanny, and now when parents I coach ask me about potty chairs I always recommend the padded kind fit over your toilet seat for the following reasons:

1) The pad makes it comfortable to sit on
2) It creates consistency in to potty in the toilet
3) No cleaning, there is nothing grosser than a potty chair.

I suggest a padded seat and a good stool.

although a friend of mine made the one I have he is a fiberglass/plastic fabricator so I just showed him the pic and he recreated it. His is a bit different design and I think its better and I have to check but I believe he is now selling them. My 5yo daughter still uses it and my 2yo will use it as soon as I begin training him. PM me if you are interested and I can see if he is selling them.

I use the regular toilet seat. But I have seen the seat that attach to the toilet and its a seat for adults and another smaller one flips down for kids. I just don't want to clean something extra and then reteach to use the regular toilet.

I read tons of reviews on potty chairs/seats and I ended up with the Bjorn chair and the Bjorn seat that goes on the real toilet. We used the chair a little but daughter preferred the seat much more and believe me, so did I! It's so much easier not having to clean it all out, just flush and it's gone. Just get a stool so they can get up there. I recommend getting on Babies R Us web site and reading reviews on everything before buying. I learn so much and save lots of $ that way. I use the regular toilet and bought a Cushie Tushie (spelling?) from Wal Mart. We liked that because it was soft, white, and (for boys, not a problem for you) there was no "splash guard" that just got in the way, just a slight raise in the front. My son is 3 1/2 and hasn't used it in months as he prefers to sit on the regular seat.

I was given a frog potty, though, which is nice because the seat and bowl are one piece (easier to dump and clean) and the frog's eyes are raised in the front, again making it a block for spray but not something that is in the child's way. I will probably use that for my younger child because he likes to sit on something when his big brother is in the bathroom.

I have a Safety 1st potty. Just a standard run of the mill potty, no bells or whistles. But my daughter is doing amazing with potty training. I also left it out where she could see it for about a month, and then one day she just started using it on her own. She is almost potty trained and she basically did it all on her own with very little coaching from me. Good luck!
