As someone already suggested.. post them in the free section on craigslist.org and someone will take them.
I have abunch of magaznes (Martha Stewart Living, Robb Report, Cookie, etc) that I want to get rid of. But I think some people/entities may be able to benefit from it. I checked with the local library and they don't take magazine donations. Any of you know where I can drop these off? any hospitals / local charitable organizations that would take these magazines? Would hate to just throw them into recycle bins.
thanks in advance!

I read through and there were a couple of my first choices. I will just add something a little different. I read that the SF Zoo uses magazines to stimulate the primates.
Kaiser in Santa Clara takes old magazines.. just give them to the volunteers when you walk in.. I am sure other Kaisers will take them too. They use them for patients..and waiting rooms.
You can join freecycle.org and post them. I am sure someone will take them
Have you tried the "free" section of craigslist?
You might see if there's a used book store in your area. We have one in Fremont. My daughter and I have been quite happy to find an old issue there when we needed one!
As a teacher, I love having magazines around to cut up. The children use them to create montag pictures about what they are learning. We use the color pictures to make paper beads.
Check with the nearby school.

I would try local senior centers. They usually have common areas that magazines could be left. Even schools or preschools may take them....one, for the older students to use or two, for the teacher's lounge. I'm sure there are lot of other places but that what popped into my head right now.
When my husband had two surgeries and was in the hospital for three weeks, praise God for all the people that brought in magazines to pass the time for me and so many others. I would also get magazines for other patients. So now I take my magazines to Kaiser and put them in waiting rooms on the different floors and in the lobby where family wait for their ones having surgery. Any buidling will do, as there are always people waiting for appts. too.

Senior Centers really love them. Like Atria or any other Senior Living Facility or Skilled Nursing Home. Also, Beauty Shops and Barber Shops as well.
Hi Cathy, you can give them away on freecycle.org for your community/area.
I believe that the jails can use them. I have tried to donate mine to libraries and your right they don't take them but they told me about Friends Outside will donate them to the jails.
A lot of libraries have a recycle bin for old magazines. The library itself doesn't use them. but you can put your magazines in a bin and then whoever wants them can take them. I know Campbell Library does, and I think Cupertino and Saratoga do also.
cut em up, they make great art projects.
Cut+glue=fun for hours
I posted an ad on craigslist for free magazines and gave it to the person who would most benefit from it.
