What Is Your Favorite Place to Eat in Yellow Springs?

Hello Ladies!

We're going out to Yellow Springs for an evening of fun, and I wondered what restaurants people liked that were good for families (my children are really well behaved and like going out so it doesn't have to be kiddish but I don't want to go to an adults-only type restaurant), and not super expensive.

Plus a true Yellow Springs atmosphere (the hippieish sort of thing) would be fun. :)

Thanks so much for your input!

So What Happened?

We decided to go to the restaurant at Young's Dairy and called when we were almost there to see what the wait time was. Only 10 minutes, so fine for our Friday trip. But when we got to the podium it was packed with people and a 25 minute wait. Which meant we wouldn't be on time to see our friend dance in the Dance Recital. So we went next door and had ruebens, cheeseburgers and chicken fingers. I like that they have applesauce for the kids instead of just fries. The food was good, and the whole atmosphere was fun. Then ice cream cones afterwards and heading out to check out the cows and all the baby goats and calves right now! Then climbing some tractors and heading down to Antioch. Yellow Springs was packed on Friday too. We're going to go back soon, and would be fun to check out Peachs, Ha Ha's, and all. And play at Udders and Putters.

Thanks very much for your input and ideas! I really appreciate your time. :)

i agree with both of the other posts byt i thought i'd add my two cents ;-)

peach's is AWESOME, but check what time you'll be there because they have bands a lot of nights & it's super loud.

winds is considered quite good, but it is kind of fancy & pretty pricey.

the tavern used to be good, but i haven't been there in a while.
haha pizza is really fun too, but if i remember correctly (from when we took my son there last summer), they didn't have milk for him to drink.

if you're making it a family trip have you all been to youngs dairy? you can go feed the goats, look at the cows, run around outside, play mini golf, etc. for dinner, don't go into the ice cream place, walk (or drive) next door to the actual family restuarant. their portions are huge, home made food & it's very fair priced. afterwards is when you head over to the ice cream place!! :)

have fun :)

p.s. if you're really into the hippie thing, haha's is the hippie-est of all ;)

Sunrise cafe is nice. The Winds is probably the best place in town, depending on who you talk to. And Ha Ha Pizza is fun...
