Maybe a giftcard to a spa or something of the sort. may I ask why switch to a daycare from a loving home he is so use too? I have worked in daycares and I would never put mine in one. But i do understand why some have no choice.
Our son, who is almost 15 months old, will be starting daycare in about a week and a half. He's been going to a sitter's house full-time since he was 8 weeks old. She used to run her own daycare and has kept kids for almost 30 years. She is a very good friend of the family, and my husband has known her and her family for over 17 years. She has several grandbabies of her own, and she treats our son as if he's one of hers. She will be sad and heartbroken once we tell her that he will be going to daycare. It's nothing personal at all. I would like to give her a nice "thank you" gift for all that she's done, but I have no idea what to get her. Any suggestions? And we are kinda struggling financially right now, so nothing extravagant, just something nice and thoughtful.

You can't go wrong with a gift card.

I happen to have the perfect gift! It is Scentsy Wickless Candles! Scentsy is the hottest new thing in candles! I have had lots of teachers order the Plug-Ins's for their classrooms after smelling the one's that I gave as gifts to my kids teachers.
Scentsy Wickless Candles are flameless, wickless, smokeless & leadless so they are very safe to use around children! Warmed safely by a low voltage light bulb instead of a flame, Scentsy's exclusive wax bar melts down to release its fantastic fragrance over and over again. It will outlast your most fragrant and expensive flamed candle. Since there is no flame, they pose no danger to children, pets or property. Scentsy is stronger smelling, longer lasting & safer than traditional candles. Scentsy has over 80 scentsational scents available so there is something for everyone!
Gift wrapping is available upon request & I always include a card telling the recipient that the un-used Scentsy Bar is exchangable for a different scent if they happen to recieve a scent that they do not care for.
I would love to help you in anyway I can! Please check out my website www.Got2HaveScents.com or give me a call anytime ###-###-#### if you have any questions.
A spa gift certificate would be nice-she good get a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure.
How about an edible arrangement? I am not sure of your location but here is the website to them.
How about a couple of embroidered towels for her kitchen or bathroom or an embroidered tote bag. Irene of Sew Nice embroidered "Jesus Loves the Little Children" over a rainbow of kids on tote bags for the nursery workers at my church when I moved. You can reach her at ____@____.com for more ideas and an estimate.
I have used Goodies from Goodman gift baskets for these situations in the past:
www.goodiesfromgoodman.com They have some very nice ones that have a combination of house plants or flowers and goodies, including fresh fruit, etc. They are high quality and nicely presented products and they deliver in the local area.
Another option would be gift certificates for restaurants if they like to eat out. Or tickets to the symphony, etc.
I would avoid a "stuff" sort of gift unless she seems to be someone that really likes "stuff".
We got our sitter a nice Willow Tree Angel. They have several differnt ones. It is something that she will always have and she will think of my son everytime she sees it.
I would do something very personal for her.....such as a spa day or spa treatment. Even a perfect spa mani/pedi would be great.
I go to a great little place that has the best spa mani/pedi I ever had and it is $50 with tip. You get a great mani/pedi, face, shoulder massage, massage on legs with hot stones as well.
I go here vs the place where my hubby gives me certificates all the time for massages. I love the spa pedi at the upscale salon but it is pushing $90 and I can get both for $50 at nails.

Hi,
I recommend a gift card to a store like Target that has a lot to choose from or a check with a nice thank you card. I am sure she would like either one.
