So What Happened?

So lots of great input from everyone. My 16 month old is 30lbs and healthy. I use size 6 UP & UP diapers from Target, they are my favorite. I found size 7 Pampers so I will be switching to them here soon. My daughter is in her last days of size 6. She is not a fat baby, just big boned and has a wide butt. I think all diapers should come in a wide size, ha.

A., I have a 21-month-old boy who is 43 lbs. He's just grown out of the size 6 diapers, and though I tried pull-ups, they aren't as absorbent as he needs them to be right now, so I have been buying size 7 online at diapers.com. I get Pampers Cruisers. The prices are okay, and they do free shipping on orders over $49. That's been working for us!

Hi A. - I'm curious about how your little toddler would already be growing out of size 6 diapers?? Size 4 is supposed to fit kids up to 37 pounds. I would probably recommend trying a different brand. I thought the Pampers fit was small as well as Huggies Little Movers which I can only describe as low-waisted. The regular Huggies fit is bigger and longer so they fit higher up the belly which worked better for my chunky kid. I liked the huggies because they have the soft stretchable waistline and "velcro" tabs rather than stick-on ones.

Your next step up from size 6 would be either pull-ups or those night-time pull-on diapers used for older boys.

They make bigger sizes, but normally, people switch to Pull-ups or other training pants.

Training pants are just diapers that your child can pull up and down like underwear.

Pull-ups have reclosable sides, that are nice.

Because it is mentioned in other posts, I don't find that the weight limits had much relevance to what fit my child. My daughter always required the next size up before the weight was met.

You might also try a different brand. Many run smaller than others.

You could also try a differnt type of diaper. My daughter is in a size 5 diaper for Pampers Cruisers or Huggies Little Movers, but a size 6 for the regular style of both brands.

Is she exceeding the weight limit on the size 6 diapers? Sometimes you think they are growing out of them, but really they are just fine. I've been told the bigger diapers are really expensive, so you might try to continue using the size 6.

Pampers makes a size 7 diaper.
Some stores carry it.
I have found it at Walmart.
Or online, or even at Safeway sometimes.

Good luck,
Susan

is she over 37 lbs at 16 months of age?
i hope not.
look at the weight limit. they sometimes seem smaller than they actually are. they're supposed to fit snuggly to avoid leakage.
if she's really that big, then pull ups may be the way to go.

my 2 yr old is 34 lbs and fits a size six. ask your pedi about the fit of the diaper or the lbs your baby is. my son has always been in the 90% for weight. so this really confused me on the size. perhaps they do fit and you think they need to be bigger? let us know. love the question though as i wasnt sure there was a size 7!!!

There is an 8 year old in our neighborhood with spina bifida. His mother puts him in small size adult diapers. They may be too long for an infant though. Good luck! Have you asked your pediatrician?

I agreem with the other lady, don't listen to people telling you there is something wrong with your daughter's weight.

With that said, I have seen size 7 diapers, I believe Luvs or pampers at Target.
