In between my first and second pregnacy (12 years), my metabolism did slow down, as in every woman; I ate less in the second, and was gaining more weight, I also got "gestational diabetes", so my OB and Endocrinologist gave me simple and well know advice, that you may take if you want.
1. Reduce refinated carbohidrates and subsitute them for complex carb. Everything that says in the label "enriched flour..." is bad, choice what says: Whole wheat flour...
2. Reduce your sugar intake at the minimum and instead of sugary items, eat frut.
3. When hungry, eat high protein, low or not fat snacks, also have "in hand" cut veggies.
4. Find a "walking buddy", get a pedometer and walk as much as your want.
5. Reduce any kind of stress (it makes us eat more). Try praying, meditation, laughing (watch funny videos, movies, etc.)
