Webster's Technique for Turning a Breech Baby

Has anyone in the western Chicago suburbs had the Webster technique performed by a chiropractor to turn a baby in breech presentation? I'm looking for someone experienced in this in Naperville/Aurora area. I've tried the frozen bag of peas on the belly and playing music low to try to coax the baby to turn, but nothing yet. I'm 37 weeks so if the baby hasn't turned by next week, the doctor will try an ECV procedure. Then if nothing else works, I would have a c-section at 40 weeks if there are no complications from the version. Thank you.

What can I do next?

Sean Manning in Oak Park does this and I hear wonderful things about him. He is very well known and respected among doulas, midwives, etc. I actually saw him with my newborn after we were in a car crash and liked him a lot, but we were quite a hike from him to continue care (Elgin at the time) and he recommended another chiro for us that we are still with.

I know some women who have had good luck with visualization, and one who asked everyone in the room to visualize the baby turning and said she could SEE it happen! Just throwing that out there!

Jean McHenry is a doula in Aurora who may know of others closer to you. She is a sweetie. I know you can find her on Facebook, but if you need her #, let me know and I will get it for you. She was my doula 3 years ago.

I know it's really far, but I knew an AWESOME chiro in Oak Park who does it if you can't find one closer. Dr. Sean Manning. He is certified.

I do not have any chiro recs, but just wanted to mention that you might want to look into accupuncture also. It is reported to have a relatively high success rate, I think it would definitely be worth a try. Good luck.

I used the website Heather listed, I went to a chiro in Palatine though so that is prob out of your range. FWIW, mine did not work. Tried a ECV and that got him about 2/3 of the way down. Then two days later he was back to where he had been before.....and I went into labor so had to have the C. I hated it and wished someone would have let me have at least a trial of labor cause it is possible to birth a breech, it's just that no one is trained how to do it anymore.

Just thought I would say that scheduling a chiropractor to turn my baby was enough to make it turn! Good luck!

I don't know anyone in your area, but I know someone this technique worked for, didn't work for me because my baby was too big and placenta was blocking the baby from turning. I was too scared to do a version, and scheduled a csection at 39 weeks, with wonderful results. I remember googling Webster technique and found a website that listed docs in different areas that did it. The same doctor who tried with me is the same one that was able to turn my friends baby with the Webster technique. Also look into trying acupuncture with moxa. I'd ask a local midwife or doula for recommendations on both a chiropractor and acupuncturist too!

I was JUST in your place. I am 40 weeks Thursday and our baby has FINALLY turned head down, after being breech since our sono at 36 weeks. I did go to a chiropractor certified in Webster Technique.

Why does your doctor feel like you have to do a c-sec at 38 weeks? What have you got to lose by going to 40 and give you the most time possible for this baby to turn on his own? Just curious, because my doctor let me ride it out.

I found my chiropractor by going to this site http://icpa4kids.org/Find-a-Chiropractor/ and searching specifically for Chiropractors certified in Webster Technique.

Good luck, by the way!
