So our old top load kenmore died two days ago and we need to replace it. Thought we might go with a front loading LG, but it seems like that won't work in our laundry closet well. Any great top load washers that you would suggest. We live near Sears and Home Depot. Thanks mamas. We are starting to run out of clothes...~!

So What Happened?

Thanks for your help mamas. We found a great deal on a large capacity maytag at home depot. I just panic when it comes to making big purchases that need to last and work well and I usually do a ton of research but this time I had to move quickly. You really helped.

There are some great top loaders out there without the agitator. They act just like front loaders. Just go and look. I would stick with Sears.

Do NOT get a front loading LG. It's terrible - it makes clothes moldy and requires you to clean the inside of the machine regularly - what a pain in the @#$. Worst money I've ever spent.
Sears has a pretty easy maintenance policy, so it seems anything you buy there would be covered easily. At our old home, we had a Kenmore for many years, and never had an issue.

To be honest, once I switched to a front loader, I'd NEVER go back to a top-loading machine. Remodel the laundry closet if you have to. Get the best washing machine you can afford.

A few years ago, I bought the Samsung front-loading steam washer. WOW. Love this thing. It sanitizes using steam (so you will never have to bleach anything ever again). Our clothes come out perfectly clean every time, and I never pre-treat anything (husband works in construction and plays rugby, so you can imagine some of the disgusting articles of clothing that pass through my washing machine ;). It handles super delicate clothing just as easily (kids are in ballet, so tons of expensive ballet tights - never a run or tear in them).

Anyhow, my previous machine was also a Kenmore top-load, and after having used a front-load for several years, I can't imagine voluntarily going back. When you think of how often you do laundry and how much time you spend on it, it's worth it to get the best machine you can, and make your space work around the machine. Just my thoughts. Oh, we bought our machine at Best Buy - it was a floor model, so we got it for half price (but with the same warranty as if we had bought it new). It was around this time of year, too. Good luck shopping!

We got a top loading Maytag Centennial with a slight cosmetic ding at the Sears outlet for not a lot of $. Further, it's HE and has seriously helped our water bill. We are happy with it.
