Very Difficult First Pregnancy, Unique Symptoms, Trying to Figure This Out...

I had unique issues during my first pregnancy and I am wondering if others had the same or can help: in the first trimester extreme itchiness, full body, so I was barely able to wear clothes, along with depressive feelings, crying multiple times a day. In the third trimester, extreme back pain, terrible carpals tunnel in both arms and full body swelling/inflammation so painful that I was extremely uncomfortable in any position. If anyone had similar symptoms or has ideas of what this may have been, I’d appreciate input.

What can I do next?

I had the extreme all over itchiness. It was maddening. My doctor said it's rare, but a side effect of pregnancy for some women. I would take an oatmeal bath daily. I don't know if it really helped much, but I had to do something. I also had carpel tunnel. I never knew why. I was thinking it was due to my repetitive lab job and computer work. Back pain is normal with some women in pregnancy, unfortunately. If I were you I would make a doctor appointment to talk about these things. I did not get the extreme itchiness in my 2nd pregnancy.

What did your doctor tell you what this may have been? If he doesn't know, why would you think mom's would know?

If you haven't already talked to your doctor about this, that's what you need to do. There are just so many pregnancy symptoms. Most people know about morning sickness and needing to pee a lot, but not everyone gets those (I had the morning sickness but never felt like I had to pee any more than usual).

I got the stuffy nose syndrome. My nose was always stuffy. No cold, no allergies, but still always stuffy. My doctor said, "Yep, that's a pregnancy symptom. It's just not super common."

You gotta talk to your doctor, just in case those aren't pregnancy symptoms after all and need to be investigated. Also, if they are pregnancy symptoms, won't you feel so much better knowing that?

I dont think those are unique at all....The itchiness could have been dry skin or the stretching of the skin while you were gaining weight. If later in pregnancy there is a serious medical condition that effects your liver so obviously it wasnt that. And carpal tunnel is fairly common in pregnancy due to water retension and swelling especially if you have a job where you use your hands alot. Back pain.....dont most of us have back pain towards the end, i mean really we are carrying an extra x-lbs of weight in the front and it most certainly effects your back.

Just talk this over with your doctor.
Every pregnancy is different.
It seems we get a lot of posts from first time posters who try to pump for info about others personal experiences right after we got burned by a self confessed troll 'grad student' with similar writing style.

I don’t remember how it came up but a doctor told me that if my body got itchy to notify him immediately because it had something to do with my kidneys. But it sounds like you got through that pregnancy ok. Odd that your doctor wouldn’t have had an explanation though. Hope you find the answer!

I'm with AKmom.
Is this real? It's all very normal. I didn't have carpal tunnel be due to swelling.
Hormones, swelling, back pain ... You're in your third trimester. If you haven't heard of this, talk to your doctor.
