Don't know if it will work but I think it is worth a shot! Try using Dawn Dish Soap! You will want to use the grease fighting kind and as warm water as she can stand! Good Luck!
My 2 yr old daughter decided to try and fix her hair with the vasiline. Does anyone know how to get it out of her hair? I have washed and washed.
Well.....This is what I did. I put cornstarch in her hair for about 30 mins. I washed her hair with baby shampoo. Then, I put a baking soda/water paste in her hair and washed it again with baby shampoo. So far, her hair looks a lot better than it did before.
At least I can say one thing.......Her hair is more manageable now! LOL!!

Have you tried something like dawn dish liquid? I would wash it several times with that. Iam even a hairdresser and that is the only thing I can think of. dish liquid can be pretty stripping, it is used to lighten bad color(sometimes), so good luck, Let me know how it plays out>
In 1975, during my freshman class initiation, a Senior girl put vaseline in my long dark hair! After trying everything, including Tide, someone suggested degreaser. I think it was a Stanley product, and it work beautifully. Hope this helps!!!
Dawn Dishwashing liquid!!
It is what they use on wildlife that gets trapped in petroleum spills and will work on her hair.
1. Comb out as much of the stuff with a fine tooth comb as you can.
2. Dilute the Dawn in a bottle 1 part Dawn to 1 part water.
3. Keep squirting the solution and massaging in. When it no longer suds or reacts, rinse and repeat. (the dilution keeps you from having to rinse so much.)
4. You will probably have do this several times, but it will work better than just about anything else.
(my kids did this too, both my girl AND my boy... make sure to take a picture of her hairdo creation- you will thank me for this in a few years! LOL)
dawn dishsoap and u will have to wash it a couple times.
Have you tried washing with a dish detergent like Dawn? That should work.
Mix baking soda with enough water to make a "paste." Work it through her hair, just like shampoo. When you have worked it all the way through, wash her hair with regular shampoo. That works on peanut butter & jelly too...don't ask!
vinegar or lemon juice
Hi- my daughter decided to use 1/2 the bottle of my mom's Frizz Ease to "style" her hair (the directions are to use a few drops).
We wound up using Dawn dishwashing liquid about 3-4 times (wash, rinse, repeat) and that did the trick. The only bad thing about it is that it strips the hair of ALL oils, so I used one of those VO5 hot oil treatments and that helped restore her hair. The only thing to remember about this-have your daughter lay down in the tub, because obviously, it's not tear-free!!!!
I have also heard that vinegar may work, and that wouldn't strip the hair. I heard that after we got the goop out, but I'm going to try that next time (!!!) first, it seems a little more gentle....
Good luck!

I was looking for you. Glad I found you. LOL. But sorry it was with your hands full. TRY DAWN DISH DETERGENT. I had a similar problem with a child and it took a good 2 or 3 washes but it worked. Also. Mrs. Opelika Encyclopedia, do you know any court reporters? Taking transcribing classes for when I begin homeschooling and will need any help I can get on leads. Good Luck with the Vaseline. Hey and dont let her watch so much "Grease" on TV. LoL, she mighta got they idea from them. Sorry. Had to poke at you a little.
Dawn dishwashing liquid, warm water. Lather rinse and repeat.
I would suggest trying a bar of moisturizing soap. Shampoo may not get it "squeaky" enough to feel like it's getting clean. Soap may do the trick.
I can recommend one in particular offline if you'd like to email me. (____@____.com)
Hope this helps!! It's just the first time...won't be the last huh?

Dawn dishwashing liquid - it gets the grease out :)
Try some Dawn Dishwashing detergent
Hi L., you might think I am crazy but give it a try first! Take some corn meal and rub it on her scalp...corn meal will absorb the oil where you can then wash it out of her hair!! just take some and rub it all in her hair and watch and see if it doesn't get it out...let me know and good luck....D.
Try washing with vinegar.
I am not exactly sure if this will work or not but try baking soda. We use it to strip hairspairy build-up ect. It will only dry the hair out which seems to be what you are looking for.
