Can anyone tell me how I go about getting my daughter a vaccine exemption letter? Hold the judgement and comments about not vaccinating...we have our reasons. All I want to know is how to get an exemption letter.

What can I do next?

Also, We are military so we can not get one from our pediatrician. We tried that already.

Now you can still get a philosophical exemption in Washington but it has to be signed by a doctor. It doesn't have to be your own doctor, call around and find one who will and a naturopath most likely will, although I'm fairly sure tricare doesn't cover nds so you'd pay out of pocket for the visit, in which they're just required to give you information about vaccines and the benefits/risks, etc.

Assuming this is Washington state, I would go here: http://www.doh.wa.gov/cfh/immunize/schools/exemption-info... .

This outlines a recent change to Washington law, and it also gives a link to the pertinent form ("Certificate of Exemption" link).

First, I think its horrible that someone on here suggested you homeschool just because you don't want to vaccinate your child. You have right to choose just as much as anyother mom does.
Also, you can get an exemption in WA for philisophical reasons. If you have a Chiropractor they can sign the letter for you.

You need to have a reason to be exempt and the only ways to do that are:
- Letter from your pediatrician stating that there is a medical reason
- Request exemption in writing due to verifiable religious reasons.

This is entirely up to your school district. Call and ask them. If you are not a member of a religious group that opposes vaccination (valid) or your child doesn't have a medical condition (also valid) then you will have a difficult time obtaining exemption.

It depends on the state. Call the school and ask them what you need to do or you could home school then you won't have to worry about it.

I do believe the pediatrician has to sign it something stating how he's gone over the risks of not vaccinating with you. Do you have to see one on base? I've seen military at our pediatricians office a number of times.

Home daycares have to provide an Against my Religion form for parents to fill out. I would assume schools have the same concept.

But as I've never asked, I don't know.

I have found a religious exempt form online through our county or school districts website (can't remember which one it was)

I think it depends on your state. I'd ask your pediatrician. Do you need it for school? Perhaps the school can help.

My town had it as part of the packet they handed out. If I were you, I'd call the school to see what kind of paperwork they require.
