Keep a close eye on your symtoms and write things down if the infection doesn't improve so you can accurately inform your doctor. I suffered from Kidney Stones during both of my pregnancy's and never had them prior or afterwards. I went to the doctor thinking I had a UTI because I had blood in my urine. They dipped the urine, agreed and treated me with an antibiotic. This seemed to make the UTI symtoms go away except the drug gave me back pain near my kidneys. I told my doc this and he shrugged it off as coincidence and a typical symptom of pregnancy. I told him this back pain was isolated to one side near the kidney. He ignored me. A week later I had cloudy urine and back pain that was more intense. Then another week later the back pain became so severe in an instinanious moment that I had to go to the ER and landed myself in the hospital for 3 days. Eventually I passed a stone the size of a pea after getting a catheter in the ER for pre-term labor. This all started at the beginning of my 7th month.
So...my advice is to drink TONS of water (flavor it if you are like me and hate to drink H2O). My urologist recommends adding fresh squeezed lemon to the water. The acidity helps break down the stones that I was producing. Watch your symptoms to see if they change from typical UTI stuff. Take your antibiotic and drink Cranberry juice.
Good luck and Congrats!
