A.K.
Hi L.,
I just attended my great aunt's 90th birthday party. It was a surprise party (she is in very good health, so it was okay to make it a surprise). All of the people closest to her were invited, including her hair stylist (in fact he arranged the party!), dentist, doctor (and staff) and of course family. She lives in an assisted living center, so all of the folks that live there were invited. The surprise element was the best. Plus, we did a dvd photo montage of her life set to music, with some special Bible verses and poems included here and there. We of course had cake and she shared some memories. She loves old hymns and loves harmonizing, so we printed out a booklet of hymns and just did some impromptu singing/harmonizing with her hairstylist accompanying on the piano. It was all so very special because we did things that she loves and invited people that she loves.
I hope your party turns out to be a very special time for you all, too!
Best wishes,
A.
