Ugh-pee on the Couch

My 2-year-old's diaper leaked and when she stood up there was a big wet spot on our microfiber couch (I'm not sure if it actually leaked, or somehow got pulled to the side, because it seemed like a lot for a "leak," but anyway...). I immediately wiped it with baby wipes, then soap and water, and then used some oxy pet spray cleaner. It's been a few hours and I can still smell it. Help! What else should I do? I'm worried maybe it soaked in?

What can I do next?

If you think it soaked in, soak the area with a pet enzyme cleaner and then set it near a heater vent to dry.

You use a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, liquid dish soap and baking soda...can't remember the exact amounts but if you google it you can find it. I've unfortunately had to use this often and it takes the smell right out! I used it when I had a dog and now for when my kids have accidents. Those pet cleaners only make the smell worse in my opinion!

My usual answer to these things: Nature's Miracle, which is a pet enzyme. Spray or pour it on, depending on how deep the pee went, and let it go to work. Repeat if necessary. It works.

I would use Nature's Miracle over vinegar.

Vinegar. My son used to wet his bed. We would clean the mattress with a mix of vinegar and water after using a lightly soapy water or a fabric cleaner. Worked every time. The vinegar smell goes away after it is dry. A cup of vinegar to a quart of water should do it.

All o can tell you is the mix of Dawn Original, baking soda and peroxide worked on a skunked dog. Google proportions & try it.
Can you put the cushion (if unattached) somewhere sunny (porch, sunroom, etc.)?

We had the same problem, same type of fabric on our couch and we just used old school dial hand soap. I don't smell anything so it may just be mental for you at this point. Although, maybe it was a lot more....ours was a good amount though. anyway, you could always try a baking soda on it. Other than that, I think you have already used quite a bit that I would recommend. Best of luck!

My mom always cleaned with vinegar when something like that happened.
