Tubal Ligation and Late Period

Hi A. and congrats on the two young ones (so close together, you are quite brave). I would definitely take a home pregnancy test. It very may well be just an irregular period, BUT tubals are not 100%. I am a nurse in an ER and in the last year alone (since i returned from my maternity leave in April), I have taken care of two patients who had had tubals but found out they were pregnant.
Also important to determine now if you are pregnant is because they sometimes become tubal or ectopic pregnancies, which if left untreated can rupture...

Im not sure if you believe in God and the bible but if you do then you will understand where im coming from! If you are pregnant than it happened for a reason and he chose you to have this baby and healed your tubial! I have 4 children and im 25 not doing to well my husband is in the hospital and im home to take care of the kids God works in mysterious ways and im keeping it al together still looking for a house to buy as well! I hope everything goes well for you and it dosent cost much more to take care of another child just even it out if you are pregnant! God bless you and good luck!

Definitely worth checking out an over the counter test. It can't hurt. If you are pregnant, you need to get to a doctor ASAP because a lot of the times with pregnancy after a tubal, they can become a tubal pregnancy, and that can not only hurt the baby, but can also be fatal to you. I have however heard from a few people that have had tubals, that their periods are irregular so if it's just a few days, don't worry too much about it. My sister had a tubal 4 years ago with her youngest, and has not had a period every month yet, sometimes only gets them every 2 months or so. Doctors say there is a 1 in every 50,000 chance that the tubal was not successful, but normally if you haven't got pregnant after 5 years, you are set. I am still debating if I want one or not.

I had a tubal 17 months ago (after my last baby), and I've had trouble ever since. I have a period every month, but I'm at the other extreme. Mine used to start on the same day every month (I could even tell you within an hour of when I'd start), they lasted about 3-4 days and they were very light. Now, I know within a week of when I'll start (but that's the best I can calculate), they last a full 5-6 days and I have to use a tampon and a pad together for the first 4 days (gross...sorry). After everything I've read, I wish my hubby had gotten a V instead. My doctor said I had about a 1 in 1000 chance of getting pregnant again (and I did worry about that in the first few months also), but so far it hasn't happened.

I had my tubes done with my last csection. I haven't had a regular period since. it may be every month, it may be every 2. It can't hurt to take a test, but I wouldn't worry too much about it right now.

I had my tubes tied years ago and I have had several late periods over the years. Are you breastfeeding? That could have something to do with it. I doubt you are pregnant since they usually cut them, burn the ends and then tie them off, but if you feel better do a quick test to see. At the end of the day, if you end up being that late you should see your doctor.

More then likely you are not pregnant. Take a test to find out. If you are breastfeeding you could be having irregular periods or normally you get irregular periods after having a baby while you body adjusts. Good luck with everything but the odds are against you being pregnant again.
