Tub to Shower Conversion

Hello, Mamas!

Has anyone had a tub converted to a shower? Our kids never use the tub in their bathroom and it's in need of water damage repair behind the tiles. At this time we are only remodeling the shower area and trying to keep it simple. (Next year's tax return will hopefully pay for the rest of the bathroom - vanity, walls, etc.)

I'm not terribly worried about how the converstion will affect resale because we plan to be here for at least 15 years. We do have a large jetted tub in the master bathroom. That's the only tub we used to bathe the baby. What are your opinions on this?

I've received a few estimates from contractors ranging from $4,000 to $7,000. Can anyone recommend a contractor you've used for a bathroom remodel? I'd also like to know who you've used that I should avoid.

Thanks for your help!

Hi B.,

I highly recommend All U Need Remodeling for your bathroom remodel.
They're highly experienced in all types of remodel and are willing to work with your budget like they did for us.
They're not the cheapest out there, but not the most expensive either. I believe their price range was right around the middle of what we were getting from other companies.
They completely remodeled a bathroom and kitchen in our home.
The bathroom was a shower to tub conversion, so sort of opposite of what you need, new countertops and new flooring.
We were SUPER happy with their work and would use them again in a heart beat.... : )
The owner is a family man who you feel like you can really trust. Anyhow, their number is ###-###-#### and the owner is Chris.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions I can help you with.
Good luck and take care!

I don't know about these things first-hand, but I've seen commercials for tub/showers for "older" people or people who have physical issues that prevent them from climbing into the tub. I don't know if that would work or be a nice compromise to keep the tub option open. Good luck and I hope it's a wonderful bathroom when you're done. :)
