I had my IUD removed on 10/3/10, after having it for 2.5yr. I have only had one period on November 8th, that lasted for five days. I took a PT and it came out negative. Just wanted to find out from other ladies and see if anything like this has happened to you. Or would you happen to know if his is normal.

What can I do next?

What kind of IUD was it? Paraguard? Mirena?
If it was mirena it had hormones. That means your body may need a few months to adjust back to its normal cycle. It would be completely normal if it took 6 or more months.

I had Mirena out in May after over 5 years. Had one period, then none for 3 months. I was taking YAZ, and period started again after I stopped, so it might have been that. But, it's possibly that this is just how some women respond.
(I didn't have a period with the IUD in, either. Don't know if there's any connection)

Hi J.,
I had my IUD removed about 3 months ago and my periods have been irregular since. Had spotting off and on for 2 months and just recently had a period that lasted 5 days and was heavier than before the IUD was placed. Seems like it will take our bodies a while to regulate. I wish you the best in Ttc! I remember how anxious I felt 12 years ago when I was trying to get pregnant with my son! Seemed like forever!

They will probably be irregular for awhile. Mine definitely were after I had my Mirena removed. Good luck trying!

I think it's pretty normal. Your body could be a little wacky still, nothing to worry about. Good luck and have fun! ;)

I had the Mirena for 2.5 years. I had it removed in June of 2009. I had a spotty period a few days after removal then didn't have a period until August. My periods regulated out, but not to a 30 day cycle (more like 45). We conceived in February 2010 and I now have a 1 month old baby girl. We had difficulty conceiving our first so AFTER 6 months of TTC, I saw my doctor and he gave me 50mg of clomid for the month of February and that is when we conceived. He wouldn't do anything until the 6 months had passed and then only because of our previous history. After TTC for 5.5 years with our first it only took 8 months with our second. Good luck!!

My periods were completely unpredictable after getting the Mirena removed. I even went as a long as three months without a period once. Your period will eventually regulate.
