I went off the pill last December. According to my new doctor and of course, the internet, the pill is supposed to leave your system immediately. However, after suffering my first miscarriage in March, a family friend of ours (also a doctor) said that pill takers have an incredible high risks of miscarriage the first three months off the pill.
We have been trying since then with no luck. I suspect that I had two more miscarriages since then so I really have no idea if it is really related to the pill or just the fact that I am 35 now. I would imagine for you that after eight months that is not from the pill and could possible be other issues. I don't know what your age is but I was shocked to realize that my chances of getting pregnant are significately lower now that I am in the 35-44 age bracket than during my last pregnancy when I had my twins.
Funny thing is, I still feel the same age so why can't my body behave that way? :)
