Hello Mom's

Needing your help here. I want to take my son somewhere he would enjoy himself; a trip that is catered for kids within 2-5 hours from Dallas.

Your ideas are much appreciated. Y.

Glen Rose, TX to the Dinosaur State Park. There are real Dino foot prints, you can wade in the River (every one does) and follow the foot tracks while you're at it. There is an awesome playground, hiking trail, etc there as well. Don't forget to check out the Big Rocks Park while your in Glen Rose. My kids LOVE IT and so do I!

Lost Pines Hyatt in Bassdrop was awesome for a family get away! we went this june with our 3 yr and 18month...it was GREAT. Not cheap, but EVERY aspect of the resort does cater to children and it was fun for us too.

I don't know if you are looking for a day trip, or an overnight trip, but when my son was 2 or 3 we went to Grapevine and rode the train into the stockyards, played a bit down there and then rode back.
his face was priceless as we chugged along. You could tell it was a highlight of his week.
Oh, we also did some pony riding at one of the stops in either Grapevine or FW. Can't remember now.

Glen Rose has alot of things to do, especially if he loves dinosaurs. Fossil Rim is a drive thru zoo with lots of animals and then you can go to the park area and swim in the river and see real dino tracks. There's lots of other dinosaur things to do there.

I have heard Gainsville has a really neat zoo--Frank Buck Zoo and then also you can ride a train across from the zoo area. We were actually thinking of going there.

There's always Sea World San Antonio. It's about 4-5 hrs. away. Our kids had lots of fun in San Antonio.
