Treadmill Recommendations Needed

I really need to buy a treadmill. I was using one 4-5 times a week at the gym so I don't doubt I'll use it at home as well. I would like one that folds up. I would like it to be sturdy. I don't need all the fancy bells & whistles although a cup holder would be nice. I don't want to purchase used.

I am looking into buying one from Sam's Club. They have various ProForm & Exerpeutic models listed on their website. I have read before that ProForm is a good brand but to stay away from the cheaper models. I haven't heard anything about the Exerpeutic brand. I did read through some of the reviews on the Sam's Club website but there aren't very many of them to read through and some models don't have any reviews listed at all.

Do you have any recommendations? I'm also wondering if I need to buy the extended warranty (assuming it's offered), the accessory kit, and/or the treadmill mat?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

The only tip I have is that you probably WILL want a treadmill mat. We had a treadmill years ago (one of the NordicTrack ones with the arm things) and where the actual wrap around tread goes around the machine (the belt) it can leave a powdery greasy dust. I know that sounds like they are mutually exclusive, but they aren't. And it is hard to clean. The mat helps catch that, and also can help avoid the deep imprints from the "feet" into your carpet, or scratches to your floor if it isn't carpet.

Eventually, even if you get rid of the treadmill one day, you can use the mat for other things. Like resting dumbbells on them. Or underneath a yoga mat or whatever.

I have a Sole F80, bought it at Dick's Sporting Goods. We didn't buy the extended warranty because it came with a 2-year manufacturers warranty. I've had it 2 years and primarily run on it only during the winter months when I can't get outside. It has cup holders, built in fan, ipod hook-up for music, and folds up easily. I've been really happy with it and haven't had any problems so far.

I have a smooth, they are one of the best home treadmill models, along with the sole, mentioned below. I have not had a minutes problem with my smooth, it folds up, it is a basic model but it still cost $1000. Smooth has a lifetime warranty on their motors, which is a good thing.
You can go to the treadmill sensei, and read a lot of reviews, same on amazon. I have not got a treadmill mat, have never needed one, and I live in a trailer. It would be nice to have a book rack or something? I don't know what other accessories you would have?
I researched endlessly my treadmill, and what I came away with was buy the biggest belt you can afford, especially in width.

We have a Pro-Form that we ordered directly from the company, not through a Sam's Club type store. We did see them at our BJ's (same as sam's and Costco) store but when we cross referenced the model on the company site, it didn't even exist. I have had it for about 2+ years and I love it. I haven't had any 'greasy floor' issues and we dont' have a mat under it. That being said, I am not opposed to it either. I tend to sweat a good amount when on it so the mat could be helpful for that purpose if you have the room. Pro Form is pretty high up on the quality level. Nordictrack has a pretty good track record as well. I would steer clear of buying it from a place that doesn't specialize in sales of this nature but that is just me. :o)good luck!
