Anyone like to recommend a toy or game that their son really likes? My son seems to be outgrowing the toys he has. I don't buy him a ton because I want him to develop an imagination, but winters are tough and I'm looking for something that will occupy some of his time. I'm open to all suggestions. I know that I'm going to get him one of those pop-up play huts. He has a Sesame Street memory game that he likes. He's really into dinosaurs too. Actually, I wouldn't be opposed to buying him a dollhouse since he LOVES his cousin's - LOL!!!

Puzzles, especially the wooden chunky ones, Melissa and Doug has some nice ones
Magnetic sketch board
For pretend-play: doctor's set, tool set, dress-up clothes
Play-doh
Fisher Price Little People. We had the farm, the garage, the construction site, the playground, the airport, the school bus, a train and more. As they got older their Spiderman and Batman action figures would play with the Little People stuff. You can get the Little People's house too.

My 2.5 year old is obsessed with firemen. Obsessed. He has a ton of firemen stuff, including an outdoor fire truck. All day long h plays fireman Sam.
Sometimes he plays with his trains or cars, but fireman sam is his thing. I'm buying him a wood fire station for Xmas, a boy dollhouse. I know he will love it since he loves his sisters doll house.
Duplo Legos - he can build his own "dollhouse" and get his little people/superheros/toys/animals and role play with them ... the possibilities are endless!
(I saw those Duplo books that come with Lego sets - they look pretty cute. My 4 yr old would probably even like them!)

dollhouse is fine. Critter something or other?? My kids play with them...lots of tiny pieces though. Squirrel families, cat families...can get the same make-up as your own family...twins, older or younger sib...etc. Castle and knights, drgaons?
For Christmas my son got a train set that had tons of little trees, buildings, street signs and cars. My sister had gotten him one of those rugs that is a big city with streets inprinted on it. He loved to combined the two. He'd roll out the rug and place all the pieces from the train set on it to make a 3D version of a city. He would set it up for hours and then walk across it destroying it with his little feet. He loved building and destroying and would do it as soon as he woke up in the morning, after naps and usually once in between. You can pick up a rug and train accessories fairly cheap. For some reasons boys just love those little street signs.
Dr. Seuss "Cat in the Hat" game - my kids love it and it's a physical game too that will allow him to get out energy in the winter! Pretty sure it's 3 and up - love it!!
My son loves construction trucks - can occupy him for long stretches of time. He's been playing with them for two years (he's now almost four), and hasn't gotten tired of them yet!
Plasma Car!!!
Ours is now going on 8 years of near daily use. Neighborhood favorite. In fact... a lot of kids didn't even get bikes until age 8+... and even those that have them often prefer "The Scoocher" (aka neighborhood nickname for the PlasmaCar). Super sturdy, they even take significant adult (250lbs) weight, although they're not super maneuverable at that weight, are built tough, super sturdy (we've only had 3 or 4 spills in 8 years with over 40 neighborhood kids, and that's with kids TRYING to dump them oer), agile... overall BEST ride on toy EVER.
We started requiring helmets at age 3 when the kids started doing hills. Never really 'needed' them, per se, but they can get going pretty fast!!!
If you have tile indoors... replace the wheels with rollerblade wheels (for the quiet).
