Toddlers Odd Behavior While Eating

My 19 month old toddler does the most perculiar thing when she is eat. She always pours her drink onto or in or plate/bowl. No matter what she is eating or drinking. She will pour her drinks onto the food and then eat it. I tried to stop her from doing this mess, by not giving her anything to drink while she eats; but then she throws a fit and won't eat. Is this common? What is the logic behind it?
P.S. the food is not too hot or to hard to chew.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the comments. Once I do take the drink away she won't eat or she will throw a fit for the cup. It's almost as if she loves soaking her food in her juice. But like you all said as long as she eats, so I won't worry about it. I hope she do grow out of it soon! Thanks

If she throws a fit and won't eat, for me that means "NO MORE FOOD" She won't die and will learn not to do it again. Who is the baby, and who is in charge.

I guess as long as she eats it, thats the important thing! Maybe she'll grow out of it.

it might be just a stage that shes going through. I dont see where theres a problem. If shes eating and not just playing with her food...then let her keep doing it. When she gets older if shes still doing it then you can try to teach her its not ok but I think as long as shes eating theres nothing to worry about.
