There is no set swine flu shot, it's still being tested. Right now they are just pushing the regular flue shot.

I have what are considered high risk kids, their immune system is compromised due to allergies and yes, we are all getting the shot.

My experience with school is that illness spreads like wildfire. All you need is one kid vomiting in class and half the class is out within the week. It seems like more and more people are sending their kids to school sick so they don't miss their game and/or afterschool acitivity, so that makes it even worse.

I have no regrets about them getting the shot. Actually they get the nosespray instead.

I think I am going to get it for my 4, as 3 are in school. Better safe than sorry I say.

I would see what your doctor suggests. My doctor sugessted it for both my childern, 2 & 5. She said they do not have an ETA of when they will have the shot for the Swine flu yet.

I will be vaccinating my 3 children and myself. One of my children has asthma, so she will be the first to get one.

At the very least, we'll get our oldest daughter vaccinated. She has asthma and her pediatrician said to do it. Just about everyone in the US that got the swine flu in the Spring and died from it had a secondary medical condition (like asthma). We'll probably get our other two daughters vaccinated as well. Just to be on the safe side.

I have not decided what to do yet. My daughter who is 19 actually did not have as many croup attacks after we stopped getting her the flu shots. Yes she still gets croup at 19 they just call it something different now. Everytime I get the flu shot I am sick all winter. I have IGA deficiency so that might be why. I am going to talk to the doctor before I decide. I am trying not to over react until there is a reason but I do want to be informed.
