Tmobil? Do Any of You Use Them?

It depends on where you live. When I lived in South Florida I had Tmobil and the service was great, had no problems at all; then I moved to Central Ohio and it was horrible, I couldn't talk inside my own house (and I live near a very commercial/business area).
Sprint doesn't work that well for us either; the only one that worked was Verizon, but it was expensive, so I guess the Midwest doesn't have very good reception.

I have had Tmobile since they were Voicestream (since early 90's) and love them. Of course I have had dropped calls etc, when I hit a dead zone. I live out in the boonies though and have pretty good coverage. Rumor has it they are merging with ATT, but who knows. I have never had a problem with their customer service. In fact once I screwed up and went WAY over on my minutes. They waived the extra fees because I had been with them for so long and my contract was almost up.

My husband's had them for over 4 years and he's not complained... and believe me he WOULD if there were reason to. Since we've been together, I've had cingular (bought out), moved to straight talk, then finally MetroPCS. The last 2 were really crappy... I finally moved on to a family plan with my husband, literally YESTERDAY with T-Mobile.

It depends on how many towers are in your area ... if you are in a tower rich area you are fine, when they "thin out" then you run into trouble. I have had Tmobil for 8years - just added my mom and sis to the plan they both have ulimited min/text/data 40/mo (80 total) and then for my man and I we have unlimited min plus text and the "base" plan is 99/mo ... we also have ins on each phone 8/ea plus tax our bill is typically 230/mo for all our things

Have you looked into Virgin Mobile? Their No Contract(!) plan runs Android phones on the Sprint network. For $35/month you get 300 minutes, unlimited data/web and unlimited text. I LOVE them! And I love the phone I picked - the LG Optimus V. Best of all, when I signed up it was only $25/month and when they raised the rate in August, current users - even though we don't have contracts - were allowed to keep the cheaper rate. Nice service!

we recently looked into them because Verizon was so expensive too. make sure you go in and talk to them because they sound cheap, but then you have to tack on the cost of your phone or build it into your plan. very expensive for phones!

we ended up switching to sprint. so far, so good.

however, WARNING: if you plan to switch when your contract runs out, make sure you call verizon and get information on the best day to switch. when you switch and take your number with you, your acct. cancels immediately at verizon, and even 1 day early, you will pay termination fees. even if you wait til after, you will pay some prorated costs because your billing month may be different than your contract end date.

I have had Tmobile for over ten years. It doesn't have quite the network Verizon has but enough.

What I found interesting was I had use of my phone all through Europe where others did not, so globally it is a good company as well.

We have 4 phones on a Verizon Wireless family plan, 700 minutes/month, unliimited texting, unlimited calling nights and weekends for about $125/month BUT my husband has the main line which was $90 and the added lines $9.99 each (plus tax on all) HOWEVER the lady at the store asked who we worked for and since we both have work emails she checked both and mine offered a 17% discount (on the main line only) or my husband's company was listed at 8% discount. So my advice: go to a Verizon store, talk to the sales person, tell them you are about to leave Verizon but need cheaper deals, and they may come through. My daughter wanted a certain phone but the lady steered her to a Verizon basic phone that had no extra charges whereas the phone she initially wanted had a $30/month additional data charge requirement. So ask your current provider and you may receive.

Works well in Oregon but I've been in spots in California and Maine where I didn't get reception but Verizon phones did.

I love our Tmobile. Had them for a few years now. We pay $100 for two phones, unlimited minutes, unlimited texting. I've had maybe 10 dropped calls in the 3 years we've had their service, so it's very rare. I dunno about customer service. I've only called once with phone issues. They helped me fine I guess.

We had Tmobile a couple months ago. We had them for about 8 months and hated every minute of it. We had so much trouble with them adding fees to our account & turning off service on our blackberry phones that we were still paying for (we were told we had to pay extra to be able to use apps on blackberry phones even though those were the original 2 phones we had with the account). Every month we had to go to the store and they would push a button on the account or change one setting, tell us it was fixed, and send us home. Two or three days later when my husband was out of state and unable to get to the store, his phone would shut off again. We depend on him having a reliable phone since he's only home 4 days a month. Our last bill was up to $211 from the original contract price of $124 a month. At that point we decided it wasn't worth keeping. I gave up cell phones completely rather than keep putting up with Tmobile. My husband now has the pay phone that's through Kroger, I wireless, and really likes it.

I had tmobile and the service was fine. I dropped more calls than I do now with my iPhone (which is....NONE), but I wouldn't say it was unreasonable. I never had to use customer service once in my 2 years, because I never had any problems.

However, the merger with AT&T is currently being blocked by the government because it would require government funding and it's not a viable financial move. It would also violate some FCC laws.

Deutch Telecom has stated in several articles that if the merger does not go through they are not viable in the US market and will focus their energies on their European markets -which means they will either have to be bought by Sprint, who can't afford them, or they will have to declare bankruptcy. That's several years off, and obviously anything can happen between now and then.

We have T-mobile, mostly because both my husband and I had it since before we were married. I had it when it was Voicestream. We don't have smart phones, just the simplest plan and no texting, and T-mobile is cheapest for that. We are looking into changing, but will probably go with WalMart's Smart Talk. It seems to be the best upgrade option for us because we are contract-averse. But, I do have lots of areas where my T-mobile cell phone doesn't work. Depending where I am in the hills around Cincinnati or NKY, I simply get no signal.
