for great ideas for crafts and birthday parties. Maybe they have some fairy ideas.
Hi! any ideas on making party favor or goody bag treats for 5 year girl tinkerbell birthday party on a budget.
well, the party was a success, so I think! I went to the dollar tree store and picked up some fairy wings for 99 cents and decorated them with spring flowers then I used the clear sparkly paint to spruce them up a little, we had pink, purple, blue, orange and green wings and fruity flavored lip gloss rings, some bracelets I made for then girls and necklaces. The boys I found some pirate toy at the dollar tree and stickers. But what I think the childern enjoyed the most was playing the games. I found the cutest tinkerbell cake with all the pixie faires for under $50 at Starter Bros. over by the Mt. San Jacinto College. Staters also makes Princess, Strawberry Shortcake and Spiderman, Hulk Cakes as well. It was such a wonderful time for my daughter and her friends from school.
But best of all I didn't have the mess afterward. I strongly recomment The Big Cheese Pizza Co. P.S. My daughter dressed up as tinker bell she looked so cute. P.S. Thanks alot to all those mommy's for the cool ideas.

B.:
Even though this has nothing to do with tinker bell I always make playdough and put that in my kids party bags. Maybe you could a tinker bell type cookie cutter and put that in there too. Playdough is a great toy for all kids and it is easy to make.
Small baggies of pixie dust ( glitter), fairy crowns ( wire circle crowns with ribbon), make a pinata and print out a cute tink picture to put on the side and glitter inside for when it breaks open, a scavenger hunt to Caption Hooks treasure ( just around the house, park, etc), make tink wings for each child ( wire colored hose w/ glitter and paint if you want),make petal skirts, fairy wands ( get the cheap wands from the dollar store and dress them up), take butcher paper and trace the kids shadow for them to color or just hang them along a wall for decoration. Good luck!
I agree with some of the other responses that favors may not be necessary but crafts are a good substitute. Have the girls makes wands (maybe on Home Depot stir sticks. they are free and you could paint them ahead of time and then decorate at the party.) Make the girls fairy crowns like at the fairs ... use star garland and ribbon. Maybe find each girl a pair of wings at the dollar store. If you do that then they will all go home with a fairy costume as their party favor. Also to save money... dont buy everything tinkerbell... Get a few key decorations with Tinkerbell and then coordinate solid colors that match (ususally less expensive than the character items). I love the treasure hunt idea. We just did one with a moms group and they had cheap stuff like colored craft sticks, stickers, colored paperclips stuff that they kids could take home to put in their craft box and some other character toys *rings,.... Save yourself money on the cake too. Make cupcakes (from a box) and put a ring or something on top. Your daughter would love to you. Good luck and have fun.
I've seen white foam star wands with ribbons at Michael's in the foam crafts section of the store. You could buy some spray adhesive and glitter for them. Pour some glitter onto a paper plate, spray the foam star portion of the wand with spray adhesive then quickly press into plate of glitter to cover surface. Do this on both sides. You can even add some colorful ribbons to the plain white ones on the wooden rod of the wand to make it super girly.
Face painting could be a inexpensive alternative to goodie bags. You can paint cute fairy/pixie themed objects, like a toadstool, butterfly, stars, hearts, flowers, etc. You can even add glitter to these too.
I would make 'lil pixie dust bags too. You could use the 'lil sheer fabric pull-string bags or small cellophane bags. Put a small amount of glitter and/or star confetti. Make a fun tag that says "pixie dust" and attach to bag with pretty ribbon.
You could buy some plain silver hair clips or bobby pins and attach fake flowers and ribbon with a hot glue gun and put them in the 'lil girls hair when they arrive to the party.
I agree with a previous response about cupcakes. So much cheaper and just as tasty! Decorate with some fun colored frosting and pretty sprinkles and perhaps a toy ring, inexpensive lollipop, or make your own cupcake topper by printing out some cute fairy graphics on your computer, smaller size, cut out, have your daughter color, and attach to a toothpick with some tape and stick it in the cupcake.
Handmake your own "pin the wings on the pixie" with some poster board and cut out wings.
A variation of "hot potato" could be "pass the pixie". Have the kids stand in a circle, pass around a Tinkerbell doll to music. And when the music stops, whoever is holding the doll has to step out of the circle. The last person gets a small prize.
You can buy bubbles for the kids and print out your own label to attach to the bubbles. Have your daughter color it and have it say "thanks for making my birthday MAGICAL" or "thank you FAIRY much for coming" or "I TINK it's great you came to my party" etc.
Hope these help. I love throwing my kids parties. My son and daughter are having a luau next month. They are 6 days apart so I figured I might as well combine them! Hope your party turns out great!
I have actually seen Tinker Bell stuff at the dollar store and also Target. The dollar store may even have ballons cheaper too. Make your own cake and that will save alot and don't give those really expensive goody bags. Find a small toy, wand or headpiece and that can be the treat. Any kind of picture you cand have the kids glue glitter on is also another fun thing to be able to take home. Go out in the yard and have each child tie a ballon to their leg. Them have them stomp the ballons to pop them the and the one whose ballon pops and is full of glitter or "Pixie dust" is the winner. You can make wands as simple as colored straws and sparkly pipe cleaners.
Hope this helps!

I have been looking through this website for my son - there are several tinkerbell party ideas here. Always on a budget! have fun!
You can find all sorts of cute goodies at your local Dollar Tree store. They carry a lot of Disney themed items, and party supplies.
not sure when your party is or if it's too late, but check out this website. they have great stuff for really good prices. so as far as favors, rather than a bag with lots of goodies, maybe one large thing they can walk away from the party with...like fairy wings or a fairy wand!

good luck!
Hi B.,
If you have a 99 cent store or Dollar store nearby, I'd try there. I know the one near me, in Lomita, has a ton of Tinkerbell stuff. You could get away with a little bag with one Tinkerbell item, then fill it with inexpensive candy, stickers, maybe a pencil (even the party stores have some things that aren't too expensive)...maybe candy necklaces. Something like that would probably work. =0) Good luck!

Hi B., I did this for my two girls and they loved it. I made wands wth the girls that I got at Michals in the dollar bins. Foam stars and a little stick. They glued jewels and pixie dust on them. I also made halos out of the wire stars garland and tied on ribbon to hang down. These were a party favor along with tiny bottles of pixie dust (glitter)that you can find at the craft store. If you don't want the mess you can also do sparkle lip gloss. You can throw in pretty rocks from the craft store as lost things. There were boys at the party too so I did pirate coins and eye patches for the boys. Hope this helps.
The Dollar Tree stores have these adorable little fairy kites right now. One kite could be your favor for each child. They also have butterflies and airplanes (in case the boys don't want a fairy).
I agree about the craft idea. You could pre-cut wings and have the kids decorate them. Use yard to put them on.
Hi B., have you tried Oreintle Trading? if they don't have Tinker Bell party goods, walmart is good. J.
Don't make too big of a deal out of it... Just some plastic jewelry (rings, bracelets, y'know those cheap things you get at a dollar store) and some fluffy hair ties or barrettes (again, dollar store), some tinkerbell stickers, and throw in some fruit snacks or little bags of cookies to make them look bigger! You don't have to make everything Tinkerbell-y, just get some little tinkerbell bags (those will probably be the most expensive item!) or else some plain bags, and decorate them with tinkerbell stickers and the kids names.
I did Tinkerbell for my daughter last. Michaels had a lot of Tinkerbell in their dollar bins. I also got some foam sheets of different colors. (It's was around $7.00 a pack) and printed off a template from FamilyFun.com for fairy wings. Then I cut our the wings and let the girls decorate them. I used ribbon to hold them together and fit them on the girl shoulders. If they so a craft, then that is basically the favor.
You can also look at Oriental Trading. I ordered stuff on their site for my daughters birthday and I was actually impressed. I was able to get everything for less than $100 (invites, cups, plates, napkins, balloons, a bracelet craft the girls made at the party, ect.) I was leary about the quality and it ended up being really fun. I wouldn't stress too much about "treat" bags!! They can be quite expensive and if you are working on a budget I wouldn't let that make or break your party. I didn't do treat bags at my party and just had some crafts for the girls to do and let them take that home. Have fun!
Hello B.,
Disney has lots of stuff at the 99cent stores. Party favors, pencils, note pads, markers etc. Tinkerbell and Cinderella, Snow White, Mickey and Minnie, Pooh. Also the Bargain Centers have lots of Tinkerbell party supplies.
DOLLAR TREE DOLLAR TREE DOLLAR TREE.
I was just there getting things for my daughters second birthday and for her first birthday I did Tinker bell.
I was so mad because last year I could not find much.
And now it is at the dollar tree.
They have all kinds of things.
I went to the Dollar tree on Tropicana and Easter and the one on Decater off the 95 by the mall.
Both have lots of things.
Also they have those two for $20 packs of the Disney fairies at the Disney Store. That will give you cake toppers and party favors.
Also go online to disney.com and go to the disney fairies page.
They have ideas and coloring pages you can download.
I ordered stamps on ebay last year really cheap as well.
The 99 cent store should have some great stuff for you. They typically have things like packages of tiny notebooks or pencils, or stickers, packs of crayons, so that you get several for 99 cents. They also have bags as well. If you don't find bags, Target sells white lunch bags that you can decorate.
Have fun!

Stickers and pencils with small pads of paper are always on sale at the 99cent store. My daughter found Disney character hairbrushes at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago. What about hair things. Both stores have these hair bands that look like Tinkerbell's skirt. Fairy stuff is really popular right now, and sales are in abundance.
I'm not a huge fan of candy, especially cheap candy, but I found pixie stix at Michael's for my 6 year old's fairy tea party.
B., You can always go to the 99 cent store, they have an abundance of Tinker Bell stuff, from pens, to crayons to color books. I would check there if I were you.
Best of luck!
M.
the 99 cent store usually has tinkerbell stuff. but, if you find wings, then i wouldn't do goody bags. maybe they could make crowns-or do a map/treasure hunt. is glitter cheap? i'd sprinkle some around in the yard (you don't need that in the house) I am absolutle horrible when it comes to themes.
I was at Dollar Tree yesterday and saw a TON of Tinkerbell stuff... paddle balls, crayons, puzzles, etc. Go browse around -- they have plenty of stuff to fill your goodie bags in an inexpensive way!
Go to 99c Only. They always have lots of Tinker Bell things.
If you are crafty? I suggest making a cute fairy skirt with green tule. Just buy those big elastic head bands, cut out the tule in strips and attach many strips around the headband with a knot! You can also make hair rubber bands with ribbon and leftover tule. You can have the girls make crowns during the party. Viola! You have a great costume for the girls to wear at the party and take home! This is so much better than plastic "made in China" toys that end up in the trash a couple days later. Hope this helps!
If you're having the party at home, make fairy wand cupcakes. My girls, their friends and even older cousins loved them. Get star-shaped cupcake tins and bake according to package directions, stick a popsicle stick (with curly ribbon tied on) in the bottom. At party time, let the kids put the frosting and sprinkles on with extra popsicles.
Take a look to this web site www.kiddobags.com
They have great goody bags
Hi B. where are you located at because I have quite a bit of tinkerbell stuff that is unused from my daughter's birthday party?
