My 28 month old cried like that everytime he got teeth.
Hi All,
I am going to call my dr's office when they open this am but I had a quick question in the meantime. My 2 yr old woke up about 9p last night screaming and crying (inconsolable for awhile), she then calmed down but was up w/ me till after 11p w/ add'l bouts of screaming/crying. She ended up telling me her teeth hurt at about 10:30p, so I gave her some Motrin. This morning.... same thing. I did my best to take her temp and she doesn't appear to have one. I just gave her some more Motrin. I was just wondering if anyone had seen this type of behavior in a teething toddler or if she was just telling me it was her teeth so that she could have some more motrin (she likes the taste). I tend to think it is her teeth b/c she didn't want to brush last night and told me it was her teeth before I even offered her the motrin last night. It's the constant screaming/crying that was freaking me out. She just wouldn't stop and would not tell me what was wrong for the longest time. Right now, she is calm (I hope it is not just for the moment).
Thanks!
Hi Everyone,
I ended up taking my daughter to the dr- they ruled out ear infection. My daughter told me again it was her teeth. Although, we can't see anything popping through yet, I tend to believe her. I have given the Motrin to her several times and it seems to be working. I'm so glad she was able to tell me what was/is bothering her. Thanks to all for the input!

We used Hyland's Teething Tablets. They are homepathic with no side effects, but follow the directions as sometimes the child requires more than expected. Worked really well for us. I still use them sometimes for my 21 m.o. Most drug stores and WalMart I know have them.
I am going through the same thing at this exact moment with our 2.5 year old twins. Two nights ago one of them was up many times during the night just screaming and we had no idea why; the next day we were brushing their teeth and I saw the tops of the molar coming through. I have friends who said their children had very odd behavior when they got their 2 year molars so I think what you are experiencing is totally normal. I gave my sons Motrin and they seemed fine. Good luck!
Walmart has teething tabs that they sell in the baby isle. They are in a blue box. They work really well for my 2 boys who are still teething. Target also has a teething drops it has Pooh Bear and Tigger on the box. They seem to work well with my 1.5 year old.
