My daughter has been teething for over a week and having diaherria all this time.. Is this normal to be teething this long at her age..
I did call and talk to a nurse last night where she goes to see her pediatrician. She had told me to save stool sample so they can check into it for the reasons. Then I had called today and talked to a nurse and told her I was gonna head up there but the weather was really bad and if I could take her to the ER she asked me the problem and I told her and she did not seem so concerned said it would be worse over 11 days. Told me to give her pedialyte which I am already doing anyway and to give her crackers, starches, gatorade and powerade also jello for now. If there is no improvement by monday she wants me to call and set an appointment for my little girl to be seen.
Thanks to all of you for your responses. It is hard when you were the last child and really had no understanding on how to be a mom. Even tho my little girl is very healthy and well taken care of. I came on here to ask other moms for help cause I could not get in touch with mine at the time and she is glad I talked to you all. Thanks and God bless you all I will let you know how things go.

My mother-in-law told me of her second daughter, who always got diarrhea when she teethed, and was banned from daycare when her last molars were coming in because she had diarrhea for two months. They'd taken her to the doctor and everything and there was nothing wrong with her but the teeth coming in. So, while you should go to your doctor to make sure there's no other health problem, and certainly keep up her fluids, I wanted you to know that diarrhea with teething is not unheard of. Just unpleasant.
I agree totally... call your doctor and tell the service that you want to talk to the doctor TODAY. Diarrhea dehydrates your child, have you been using Pedialyte?? I'm not so sure this is teething but you should never let diarrhea go on for more than two or three days without involving a doctor. Hope this helps!
Make an appointment to see her doctor. This is definitely not something you want to get good-intentioned but wrong advice about. I don't like to scare you, but it's extremely important, especially with such long-lasting diarrhea, to take the correct steps. Diarrhea can be very serious in young children, because it so easily leads to dehydration, which can effect the electrolyte balance, which can cause dangerous heart rhythm abnormalities. This can happen quickly in small children. Make sure she is drinking enough fluids to make up for the diarrhea - keep encouraging her to drink water and very watered-down juices. And call your dr.

PS Later note: I read "42" as "24," because I'm used to the month count switching to years + months around age two and a half or three or so.
So, her diarrhea isn't as much of a danger now, but it still is something you really want to talk to her doctor about. Sometimes you can get to the bottom of it with a phone call without actually having to come in. But do refer to your doctor's expertise on this. Diarrhea for so long at any age is problematic because of dehydration and nutrient loss (vitamins and minerals go through too quickly to get absorbed).
The diarrhea sounds like it could be part of a virus, I recommend you calling your doctor, or if you have any in your area where you live, an urgent care center. That is usually the result of another underlying issue. Teething in and of itself does not cause diarrhea.
THis is super normal. She is cutting molars. Myself and both of my siblings had diahrea with all of our teeth. My son did as well( he's adopted). This is incredibly normal. They are producing more saliva due to teething, which alerts the stomach to produce more stomach acid for the food that isn't coming. This produces the diahrea. I would get some lotrimin cream in case she gets diaper rash from it and keep her hydrated. I would do pedialyte and pedialyte popcycles. Good luck
#1, you need to be calling your pediatrician regarding this problem, including the diarrhea. I am a pediatric nurse, and can't fathom why all you Moms ask each other's advice, when you should be calling your doctor.
I think I would have her checked by her doctor if she is still having a loose stool after a week. What teeth is she cutting at 4? Her first and second molars should be in and the third molar should not come in till around six. My children never had fever and loose stool cutting teeth. I would have her checked to be safe.

Yes she can teeth at this age, but I am unsure about the diaherra.. That could be a virus of some kind, teething at almost 4 shouldnt cause any problems at all!
