I am in the process of planning a Tea Party birthday party for my twin daughters that will be 6 years old in July. Does anyone know of an event planner that will supply the necessary things for this, or is there a place that I can rent these items? I was going to buy indiviudal tea sets per table, but it will be very expensive. As a host, I am also looking for suggestions. For the activities, I am planning to spray paint little tinket boxes before the party and have the girls decorate with adhesive gems and such. Also decorate their party favor bags. I would like for someone to give a mini ettiquette(spelling) class...

What can I do next?

The tea room at 83rd and Mission (in Corinth Square) is called the Victorian Trading Company (http://www.victoriantradingco.com/) They have a little tea room in the back and they provide tea. You can bring in food. For my daughters 6th birthday we had a tea party with little "tea" sandwiches, tiny butterfly cookies and fresh strawberries with cream. The girls decorated a bonnet and a flower pot. They had a very good time - especially trying the different teas. Have fun!

There is also a place in Prairie Village at about 83rd and Mission, I forget the name but it's something Tea Room. It's absolutely precious! They offer parties (as well as baby showers). If you're not into going someplace, I would try looking into shopping for tea sets at US Toy or even on Ikea.com. I bought a tea set at Ikea a few years ago and it was very cute and very cheap! You could always order them and then raffle off a few of the tea sets to party goers before they leave so you're left with a bunch of tea sets! Your party ideas sound fun, the only other suggestion I might have is to do a dress up thing with old timey clothes and you can take their pictures and send it to them with thank you notes. Good luck, it sounds adorable!

I know I've seen something like this advertised in the Mother and Child Reunion magazine that you find in various places. I don't know much more than that, but it sounds fun!!

Sheila,
I am not sure if it is still opened. However, also,
I am not sure where you live. But, there is a tea room
in Smithville, MO. They have it set up where the young
ladies come in and dress up and the table is set for the tea party. The location is right on Main Street. It is
quite quaint.
Hope your daughters enjoy there birthday party.
God bless. Any more questions please write me at

Please consider contacting or visiting Henry's Tea Room, Lees Summit, Missouri ###-###-####). The June 11, 2009, KC Star, Preview Section on page 30 lists a "fancy tea party" for girls 5 to 8 years old. You might attend or discuss some ideas with them. I am in no way affliated with Henry's have never been to one of their events, but I bet they would be glad to answer your inquiries. The party you are planning sounds like a wonderful birthday gift.
