They sell an over the counter product now that fades tattoos, before you attempt to cover it up in order to have it redone, maybe try and fade it first? The kit costs around $60 ( I think) and I do not know how well it works.
I am looking for a tattoo cover-up ideas. I cant decide for myself. The tattoo I am wanting to cover up is a moon with a shooting star going through it & a halo above the moon. It has my Sons name above it with the date he was born / passed away. The tattoo artist was an amateur & this was my first tattoo. She messed up the the lettering. Instead of curving it at the bottom she put January going straight down & 29, 2003 is curved on the other side of the moon. So I am open to any suggestions. Thanks :) I uploaded a pic of the tattoo to my profile pic. I am open to any suggestions...

do you have any idea of what you would want to cover it up with? It is hard for me to give you suggestions when I dont' know what you are into. I think that you should go to some shops in your area, and look through their books of what they have done to get some ideas, and see how well they do cover ups. Ask them for advice. It is going to cost you, but I think it would be well worth it to have someone who has experience doing cover ups do your work.
If you could find a really good tatoo artist you could do a picture of your son's face (Side view, with the dark ink in his hair and maybe underneath in a ribbon or something and have the dates written small inside the ribbon or underneath
i dont know how much of yourself you want to tattoo but with all of the dark ink you could probably do a nice detailed tree of some type with birds or flowers or something of that nature in it to symbolize certain things....??? providing there is no scarring in some of the areas....
Your best bet is finding a good tattoo artist and going in and asking them to draw you up some good ideas...if you give them a basic idea a good artist can usually come up with something.
I agree with a portrait over it but you really need to go to a reputable artists as potraits aren't the easiest to do. I love tattoos and you will feel great about it when its fixed!
