What kind of fun things do you all do for table foods? My daughter is 10 months old and has almost one full tooth and the beginning of another.. she does gum some things well.. thanks for any ideas :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Cool thanks everyone for the awesome ideas! Should I still wait a couple days before introducing new foods to her? Ex: Never had waffles or chicken nuggets.. even though she's had bread and regular chicken.. wait a couple days?

My kids ate everything we ate! I might have had to cut or mash it up very well...especially chicken or anything difficult to chew (I would shred that). They loved pasta, avocados, fruits, vegetables, eggs (scrambled or boiled), garbanzo beans, applesauce, yogurt. One thing we gave them were (and I can't remember where we got these but I've seen them at several places) "puffs"....kind of like Cheerios but they "melt" very quickly, were organic, and were great during those "toothless" days. B/c they ate the same things we did, they will eat anything now.

Holly had lots of great suggestions. My kids loved bagels, crackers, beans, cheese cubes, pasta, all fruits, peas, carrots, avocados, toast, waffles, pancakes, puffs, dry cereal (Cheerios and Rice Chex are our faves), freeze dried fruit, cereal bars, quesadillas, lunch meat (also those ham cubes are great!), sliced cheese, eggs....

Those were the food I mostly used for breakfast and lunch and snacks. For dinner my kids were eating what we ate at that age. I always say that teeth are not a requirement to eat. Both my kids were late teethers but at 10 months I think my son only had 1 or 2 teeth too and he was eating all that. Those jaws are powerful and if they don't know how easy teeth make things, then they don't know what they're missing!

I also recommend tofu and frozen blueberries. They're smaller than regular ones (especially the organic ones are tiny) so you don't usually have to worry about choking as much and they feel good on their gums.

At that age my daughter loved silken tofu--high in protein, soft, and easy to cut into bite-size pieces. Her other favorite food then and now is blueberries--I quartered them when she was that young. Steamed peas and canned black/Navy/Northern beans (smashed a little).

A recipe that I made often was a turkey casserole--the recipe is on the Stove Top Stuffing box--includes broccoli, turkey, and stuffing. I would make it according to the directions and then use my Pampered Chef Chopper to cut it up finer for my daughter. I did that with most of our meals so for the most part she ate what we did.

She eats whatever we eat. She's also 10mos.

Last night she ate 2 chicken nuggets. I just break them up into marble sized pieces. She only has her 2 bottom teeth. No problem gumming everything.

I just stay away from cunchy things like chips and tougher fruit, like melon/grapes/apples.

Breakfast this morning for her was a piece of raisin toast and some cheerios.

She's had pork chops, steak, chicken breasts, all steamed veggies (no corn), potatoes, all breads, fish sticks, pasta, scrambeled eggs, pancakes....

At 10 months, you can start giving her pretty much everything. Just make sure that it's pea or marble sized and that she doesn't jam a huge handful of it into her face all at once. :)
