Hello! I'm finally able to get my son out of his horrible current daycare. I'm giving the old one our two weeks notice tomorrow. How do I start now transitioning him to the new place?? He does have a blanket called Bear-y that I have 2 of. One for here at the house one at daycare. So I have that, but that's about it. He hasn't meet the new lady yet, but will soon.
Sorry, he's 1.

What can I do next?

You might take him to the new one a few times before you actually start taking him there permentally. He being 1 probably won't matter much. When I switched my daycares my youngest was 1.5 and he cried for the first week of dropping off but the new daycare was great to distract him. I am sure your new daycare will make the transition as easily as possible.
Good luck.

Try to make the adjustment slow if possible, perhaps a few half days for a week or so. Be sure the new caregiver knows your sons routine, favorite things to play and eat. Give it 2-3 weeks and he should be fine and loving the new place.

I would just make sure that you let him meet her before the switch. Once you make the switch, take the blanket to the new daycare for familiarity.

will the new day care let you come a few times and play with the kids prior to his move ? Can you take time off and make sure he gets some time at the new place at least one or two times at the end of the day maybe to get aquianted. You did not mention how old he is...
