We went to Aqua Tots last summer and it was great. They just opened another facility at Greenfield/60 but give lessons all over. The address is www.aqua-tots.com. Good luck
I live in Gilbert and would like to find swimming lessons for my 4yo. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, is it better for the child to take once a week lessons or several times a week? I would prefer a more then once a week, but haven't found anything yet.
Thank you for all the responses. After researching all the options we were given we decided to enroll him in Waterworks on Wheels at Fitness Works off of Higley and Baseline. They have a twice a week program and are reasonably priced and are located near our home.

I had both of my children in swim lessons last year and we loved it. We went to a woman out of her home at Greenfield and Brown. I have lost her number and can't for the life of me remember her name, but she had BOTH of my children swimming after only a week! They also learned how to hold their breath under water. I have had several friends use her as well and we all feel the same-SHE IS GREAT! If you are interested, I can call my friends and see who still has her number. Just let me know!
Aqua-tots is also opening a new facility in Mesa at Greenfield and Southern. We used that for my son's first lessons when he was 20 months old, but he just wasn't quite ready yet. I think that they were good and I know several people who have used them as well. Their website is www.aqua-tots.com Good luck!
I have had very good luck with the park aquatics program in the summer. It's every day for 10 days. For 1/2 hour each time. You could also take a mommy and me class for you and your 7 month old. I think there are 4 or 5 (2 week) sessions. Morning and afternoon classes. Good luck!
Gilbert Parks and Rec has good lessons for introducing your little one to the water, it's a mommy and me class. As for the older kids, I haven't actually tried them yet, but they look like they do a good job. There are four 2 weeks sessions during the summer. I think it was $25 last year per session.
Hi C.,
We have been taking our son to swim kids in Mesa for almost a year now. They have weekly lessons. I think they may do lessons every day for two weeks as well but I am not sure. Website is swimkidsaz.com
Good luck.
Check YMCA, they have a good swimming program from 6 month to.
C. - The city of Chandler has a series of swimming lessons for all age groups/skill levels. You can go to their web site "http://www.chandleraz.gov/default.aspx?pageid=299" and go to pages 20-28 to see what they have available and register. They have several pools and time slots that fit different schedules. I took my children years ago and now have begun taking my grandchildren. Good luck!
We had both our kids, ages 3 and 2, in swim lessons with Waterworks on Wheels. They do lessons at FitnessWorks at Higley and Baseline. I thought they were GREAT! I highly recommend them and their price is fair.
My neighbor is a swim instructor and does lessons from her home. These lessons are unique in that they are specifically taught to save the lives of children from 6 months to 6 years old from accidental drowning by teaching them how to relax, float with their face toward the surface, and breath. Watch the videos on the website... if you're like me, you'll be amazed!

The aquatics programs through Gilbert Parks and Rec are wonderful! They auickly taught both of my daughters to swim. They offer 5 sessions during the summer, 2 weeks per session for 1/2 an hour. They are great with the preschoolers, and have a fun mommy & me too!
