Hi mamas! I am looking for one-on-one swimming lessons for my daughter, who is almost 8. She loves the water, however, doesn't know how to swim and is afraid of putting her head under the water. I am having a difficult time finding private swimming instructors. Thanks for your help!

Have you tried your local YMCA? They usually have private swim lessons. Also, Emler or Dolphin swim schools would have private lessons. Good Luck with your search.

Carrollton Rec Center has wonderful 1:1 lessons. They work with the child from where the child is at. 4 nights or mornings a week for $80. We do them every year. We are on the 3rd summer. My son gets better and better. They truely pick up from level he last left. We use the Rosemeade branch.

I just started my children at Swim Plus in plano (near ave K and parker). I love it because it is one on one lessons. I really like the female teacher. My daughter (6 yrs old) seems to be taking off with her!! she is teaching her various swim techniques. truthfully, i just wanted my daughter to be able to swim by herself at the end of our swim lessons but i think she will actually be able to swim with proper technique!! and she is very nice and nurturing with my daughter.
