Does anyone know where I can find swimming classes for my 6 and 4 year old. I'm looking for either private or group sessions. I live in Harrison, NY. My son was attending Purchase College, however it is in Purchase and a little out of my way. Thanks for your responses.

So What Happened?

Thanks for the replies girls, but White Plains is still a little far away with having a newborn etc. I was thinking more of Rye, Port Chester. I am going to look into Rye YWCA Group classes and take it from there, Thanks.

My daughter took swim lessons at the YWCA on North Street in White Plains, across from White Plains High School, for years. They run the Red Cross program just like Purchase College does. There session is a bit more expesive than PC beacuase it runs for more weeks. We had a great experience with them, and it is much closer for you. I was even thinking it was time to get my 4 year old started there.

Hi Rosa: Why don't you check your local YMCA. They have many aquatic classes avail for your children's ages. Good luck.

In my opinion, and I've tried several with my children, the best program around is Aqua Tots at Manhattanville College. It's a bit of a process to get in (5am sign ups!), but honestly, it's worth it! Check it out.

I tried NY Sports Club in Stamford which I do NOT recommend. My son was traumatized the first day there and although we agreed to switch to more expensive private instead group lessons, my son did not make much progress. He was timid to start with, and their approach did not work well for him
