Hi Moms! I am a mom who is lucky enought to work from home and I love being at home with our daughter. She will be 2 in August. We are considering starting her in a preschool program on a part time basis. We'd like her to be able to socialize with other kids her age on a consistant basis. I've been looking into Mother's Day Out Programs and I have also heard wonderful things about the Holly Street School in East Nashville. I would love to hear if any of your have other pre-school programs that you would recommend researching? I would appreciate any help and suggestions you all have!

What can I do next?

My daughter attends Outlook Nashville. They are on Tuggle Street off of Briley Pkwy. They have been wonderful for me.

Hi, M.:

Some of the daycares in and around Nashville are overpriced and frankly don't provide the quality of care that I like. I have a son who is 3 1/2 years old, and right now I have him in Kindercare in Cool Springs. All of the other ones had such a long waiting list - I finally had to give in and leave him there. What I will probably look into next is a church daycare type of situation. I may be wrong, but it seems like that might be a good alternative for part-time preschoolers.

Incidentally, I am very much wanting to work at home. At this point, working a 40 hour week (and sometimes more) and then fighting traffic for 45 minutes each way... these 12 hour days are not good for any of us. Do you have any suggestions on how to find a job that can be done at home? I have a lot of experience in a lot of different things. I've been in human resources for years, but I've done all kinds of administrative work. Any ideas?

Thanks & good luck!

Hi, this really is more of a question than an answer. If you don't mind sharing I was wondering what kind of job you did from home. I have a 19 month old and another on the way. I am an educated 26 year old who worked in cardiology before having my son. I am looking for work from home. So I hope my question is not to personal.
Thanks

My 3 yr old is Belmont Weekday School 2 days a week, and it is reasonable price-wise(they also offer scholarship). There is a waiting list. But unless it's a DAYCARE, there will be a waiting list. You have to wait your turn for quality care, because everyone wants it. (I don't mean to offend anyone by that statement, but I think we all know it's true.) There are some good MDO programs in the West Meade area, and I have a number of friends who have children that sent them to one on Davidson (the name escapes me). Holly Street is wonderful, and if you are on that side of town I know there is a Church across from the Inglewood Kroger that has a MDO program (though I know nothing more about it). Hope this helps!
