Suggestions for Face Breaking Out?

I have had the same problem. I use 2 different things
1. St Ives Apricot Scrub- this works the best for me
2. Acne Control - it looks like a green bottle (cant remember who makes it) but it comes out as foam
3. Also, I keep seeing Proactiv (you can buy through TV or at the malls) I havent used it yet, but am dying to try it.

Make sure you're taking off all your makeup before bed. I use a gentle exfoliating lotion in the shower every morning (Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream) to prevent clogged pores and once or twice a week I use the Neutrogena Acne Mark Fading Peel to remove any dead skin buildup. Best wishes!

Try Proactive. I have always suffered from mild acne. And it has helped keep my skin clear. This is a great product and I swear by it. I al so suggest drinking plenty of water. This will flush your body of any thing that maybe causing the problem. Good luck I know how frustrating breakouts can be.

I think the summer heat and humidity can really do a number on the clarity of skin! It's important to keep your face clean, morning and night. If you used a moisturizer, continue to do so, but maybe get a little bit lighter one.
I make my own astringent that I like to use after washing my face with Dr. Bronner's lavender bar soap. I use a combination of tea tree essential oil, lavender essential oil, and witch hazel. Just get a bottle of witch hazel, and add about 5-10 drops of each oil(100% essential oils) to the whole thing. Shake and apply with a cotton ball. Clove oil works well too, but can be pretty strong, so use sparingly. You can also use it as a refresher spray in the afternoon. Gentle, all natural, and economical!

I use a great product that I found at Whole Foods...it is called Skin Gel by Aloelife. It is the entire aloe plant squished up with other calming herbs like chamomille. It is great for a number of things including bug bites. It is fantastic on sun burn as well. I wash face at night and then put on all over face and let dry and go to bed . It is a tad expensive around $13 a bottle but sooooo worth it . It is one product I use to the end and lasts a long time . Good Luck!

I developed adult onset acne after the birth of my second daughter. Overnight my face was ear to ear pimples. I didn't have any money but heard about oatmeal. Ordinary oatmeal that we eat for breakfast soon cleared my face and I have recommended it many times since. Use about two tablespoons of oatmeal and enough water to make a paste. Smear it on your face and let it dry. Wash it off with a paper towel. Do this every night and within a few days or a week, you won't believe the change. Good luck!

it depends how bad you're breaking out if you should go to a dermatologist or not.
I highly highly recommend bye bye blemish. It is an overnight sulfur drying agent.
They stopped selling it everywhere except drugstore.com.-I've used it about 3 years and love it.
I don't like proactiv, and I've recently tried IQ derma with NO results. Try to find a natural
facewash from sprouts that is organic. I know Arbonne is pretty pure in it's ingredients. but I dont think Mary Kay is :-)
A couple other ideas. Change your pillow case every night.
Try to wear something under your make-up such as a layer of benzoyl peroxide so that your pores do not get fill with make-up then they can't breathe.
(Benzoyl Peroxide actually infuses your skin with something akin to oxygen that Acne bacteria can't live in)
Rinse all the styling gunk out of your hair with just water before you go to sleep. (My sister noticed she was breaking out on her shoulder, and once she stopped using a garnier leave in conditioner the break outs stopped.)
Make sure you are eating plenty of Vitamin E-for skin health and ability to heal
And as much mango, and carots as you can. The Vitamin A is the number 1 skin vitamin!
I've found a blue LED light to be effective but it's $25 -$40 per treatment so it can get costly.
Good luck, I know it's aggravating. I've dealt with on and off acne since I was 14!

I agree with Elissa about the Arbonne products. But the one product that I think helped me the most was the Intelligence Thermal Fusion Mask. I got the breakouts across my forehead, and I used the mask and it cleared it up in 2 days.
