I actually have this allergy but did not develop it until my early 20s. I am also allergic to peaches, apricots, apples, and some strawberries &carrots whether they are organic or not. It seems to actually be a common allergy as I know a few others When I went to the allergist, she said it was the protein in these foods that causes the allergy. I found if I cook them, I can eat them without itching. However the allergist said to stay away from them all together and to carry an epipen at all times. Hope this helps a bit.
