Storing Christmas Clothes--with Clothes or Christmas Storage?

As I'm packing up the Christmas stuff, I'm wondering... Would you store their Christmas outfits in the attic in storage boxes with the other seasonal decorations and books, or in their closet with the other clothes I'm saving to pass down to younger kids?

My friends and I are not done having kids, so I'm saving "too small" clothes from my 2 toddlers (ages 2 and 3).

What can I do next?

If it's a novelty item like a goofy hat/socks/shirt... it would go with Christmas storage. If it's a nicer item like a nice sweater or dress, then probably go with the clothes.

I store our Christmas socks, hats, etc.. in the same box that I store the Thanks giving decorations.. That way it is ready to go when I take down Thanksgiving..

If these clothes are for future children, have a special box just for that marked as such.. Christmas for future children.. or the month sizes of the clothing..

I would keep clothes with clothes. Maybe have a separate bin that is just for all the seasonal outfits-4th of july, halloween, Christmas, etc.

I never thought of it until I moved in with my 60 year old mother-in-law who owns lots of Christmas clothing... she keeps ALL her Christmas stuff in the attic and is very excited when the sweaters and such come out with the decorations each year. Now if your Christmas stuff is too small for any one, you can just keep them in a vaccum sealed bag and still put them up with the empty Christmas boxes. For myself, I only ever had one shirt so I always kept it in my drawer.

I separate all of the kids clothes into bins according to size and throw them in the attic. I keep the holiday clothes, bibs, accessories in their own bin labeled "Holiday". This way when a holiday rolls around I can just look through to see what may fit. For me it is easier that way.

I always store the holiday clothes with the holiday decor!!! It took me a while to come to this reality, but I find it works out best. Also, when I go after holiday clearance shopping, I also put those clothes/decor straight into the bins as well!! Good luck!!!

I store my Christmas clothing for the whole family in the "under the bed" storage tubs under my bed. It is rodent free and I don't usually see spiders or bugs either. It is heat regulated so the clothes stay nice and fresh.

Good question, as my 2 yr old has a Christmas shirt I could possibly store with my Xmas decor.

But honestly, I don't want to pull out this same shirt for the next three years just to pull it out and put it back in the Christmas box. So I will store it with all the other 2T clothing that will pass to my friends or to a future child.

But one thing I do pack with my Xmas decor are Xmas books. My son got a few new ones this year. It's fun to pull out a "new" book every holiday, keep them out and read them in December, then pack them up again for next year. We'll read his new ones one more time and then pack them up with the Christmas decor.

I would probably just store them with all the other clothes - up in the attic or garage (unless they are in tightly sealed plastic containers) they could be at risk for getting bugs or mice in them.

If it is stuff you plan to use next year, I would store it with the Christmas stuff. But if you aren't going to use the clothes again, store them with the other "too small" clothes.
