Well, I'm not pregnant, but I am on chemo and I am taking 2 different antibiotics right now. My issue is that since I am allergic to sulfa drugs and (coincidentally) Levaquin, there are fewer options in antibiotics for my doctors to use to treat me. I don't have an active infection, but did just have surgery and since I am on chemo, they want to prevent an infection at all costs. So, while it may seem a little odd to be on two different meds at the same time, there could be a reason. I would call your doctor and express your fears/concerns and ask why the two meds. Be sure to ask specifically about taking them while pregnant. You can also call your pharmacist and ask them....they should be able to give you some good info. If you don't get a satisfactory answer or feel like your doctor is just giving you meds because they think that's what you want or it's the "easiest" thing to do, then get a new doctor that you can trust to do what's "best" for you and your baby instead. I'm sorry you're going through this. I never wanted to take anything while I was pregnant either, so I totally understand where you're coming from, but it is necessary sometimes. If you ignore an infection, it could spread and become sepsis, which would be an even bigger problem and potentially life threatening to you and your baby. Good luck to you!
By the way, one of the drugs I am taking is Doxycycline (in addition to Keflex) and the only issue I have had with it is that I get nausious if I don't eat food with it (the instructions say to take it on an empty stomach if possible).
