my son is 7 months old now and i'm finally going to really start trying to look for daycare to put him in for like 3 days a week. this just seems like a really long and confusing process and i'm not even sure where to start. if anyone has any advice for me that would be fantastic! questions, concerns, even just ideas on where to start looking. thanx!

Have you found a day care?

I agree with the previous poster. I love the in-home day care I take my baby to. She gets a lot of attention and I love the "homey" feel to it.
here is a website where you can search for day care in Texas. You can search for both in-home and center day care in your area http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/child_care/search_texas_child...

T.,
I personally had better luck with In-Home care at someone's home. If you go this route it is so important that you check out their license and if they have had any complaints filed against them. Even one complaint, no matter how small, in my personal opinion is too many. I believe this way because there is no way you can see everything that happens.

Either way, in-home or day care center, pop-in. Make a surprise visit. Do this before you make your decision (more than one time) and after you make your decision and your child is there.

Also, look for day care centers where you can monitor their facilities over the internet. Usually the nicer ones have cameras in every room.

One time, I took my child out of day care because I walked in and saw a bucket full of water in the hallway. No kids around but there is always the what if.

Hi T.. I am not sure if you found a in home daycare for your baby yet but I have a small in home daycare in my home in Keller. If you would like to talk to me my # is ###-###-####. I am listed thru the state and just completed my classes to become registered. Good luck with everything.
