I'm just curious to hear about the favorite stain sprays for clothing of other moms? I used Dreft for my daughter when she was a baby, but have been using Zout for quite some time now. Just wondering if I should try something else? Thanks for your input!
This is going to sound odd but I SWEAR by plain old original Dawn blue dish soap. It gets out everything! The best part is I can treat the spot (rub in a few drops so it covers the stain) and leave it in the laundry basket until next wash day.
Oxi Clean Stain Remover. I've used so many different stain removers, and this is the best one by far!!
I cannot live without my Shout Advanced. It even took out stains that were set in for a few years!
I tried lots of stuff to get stains out. My daughter is in daycare and comes home with paint and marker and/or pasta sauce on her daily...sometimes two or three shirts full! She has very sensitive skin, so it's been hard for me to get the spots out. BUT I just started using the Tide Free stain release packets. It got out stuff that's been stuck on her clothes for months! I love it. And it's way easier to use! I do let the load of laundry soak for a while (just don't close the lid if you have a top loader).
I use Ecover stain remover for kids clothes. It works well and is unscented. I also like OxyClean stain remover, but the scent is so strong I think it's a little nauseating, especially if you already have scent in your laundry detergent.
I used to buy "Shout" which tended to be expensive and then one day when I was out of it, I grabbed the only thing I had on hand...."409" and sprayed it on a stained blouse. I figured that it couldn't be any worse than the stain. It worked like a charm and that's what I've used ever since. I always have 409 on hand to clean counters, walls, etc. and now I don't have to buy any special stain remover...and the bonus for me is that 409 is cheaper to buy than Shout. NOTE: I don't know for sure, but am guessing that any similar cleaner (i.e., Fantastic, Green Works, etc.) would work the same. Good luck! T.
I use Pre-Spot for all stains, and Mela Power and Mela Bright for all my laundry. Couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised the first time I used it, and opened the washer and my clothes looked clean and bright for the first time. (I had always used Tide- I guess cause it was the most advertised, I thought it was the best) I have no more allergies to fabric softner when using Mela-soft, since it is naturally made. Finally I can have soft fluffy towels! ;) Just a little pleasure put back in this moms life! ;)
I'm not a big fan of the sprays...but I love the new ALL Oxy Stain detergent. Smells great too!
I use Prespot stain remover and Mela Power laundry detergent. Works great and toxin free.
I use Oxyclean powder and Awesome degreaser (found at Dollar Tree remarkably) ...believe it or not, it takes out EVERYTHING when used directly on stains. I love it. It goes with any detergent, etc. It has saved many of my daughters clothes as well as blankets. It also works really well on the stove top. Hope this helps. :-)
