L.---Call the health dept. and see if you qualify for WIC. If you do they will help you be able to get the things you need and may be able to give you some assistance to get milk and cereal for your older son also. Although I have not used this program personally I know many who have (in different state) and the assistance given to them was a life-saver! It is income restricted but don't assume you won't qualify-----it can't hurt to try. You can search Wic Nashville and you will be able to find the different offices and see wich one is closest to you.
Also, I don't know the name, there is a church on Lebanon Rd. that always has a message that if you need help with clothes or food to call. If you are coming from Madison and came down Old Hickory, you would make a right onto Lebanon and the church is on the left, accross from the Post Office and next to a US Bank. I wish I could remember the name of the church but I am drawing a blank---Sorry.
There is also Angel Food Network------they don't really help with baby items but you may be able to use them and save enough on regular groceries to help even out the cost of having to buy baby necessities. www.angelfoodministries.org will take you to their site or Fist Baptist Church in Madison ###-###-#### and Madison Church of Christ ###-###-#### // ###-###-#### both of these churches are host sites (you do not need to attend either church they just take your orders and thats were you go for pick-up). There is no income restrictions on taking part in Angel Food.
One other thing is to let friends and family know that if they come accross any coupons for formula/diapers/food etc. that you would appreciate it if they could clip them for you. I've also heard that there are coupon clubs out there that you can join and you swap coupons, might be something to look into. Try going to some of the formula makers websites and see if they have any free samples or coupons available. My ds and dd were switched around on formula and it never affected them although I do know some babies' tummies are alittle more sensitive to change. Finally if you are having a really tough time check with your obgyn or ped. they may have some samples that they can give you.
I hope you find the help you need.
Peace
