My 9month old son was just diagnosed with allergies to soy and wheat. He has been on breastmilk since he was born. He never latched well so I have been pumping and feeding him the milk in bottles. I will be going on vacation with him for 2 weeks and am unsure if I will be able to pump enough milk for him. At home I have a deep freeze full of extra frozen milk for him. Does anyone know a formula that I have can have around as a back-up that is soy free. I have a free sample of the dairy/milk formula in our house, however it states on the side of the container that it contains both soy and milk. Please help! Thank you.

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
Just a shot in the dark, but could you cold ship the frozen milk you have for him to your vacation destination?
Remember, the more you drink and pump for him, the more you produce.
You'll be fine. How about water in bottles to help him stay hydrated?
Good luck.

At 10 months I gave my son Organic Babys Only lactose Free formula - he cant have dairy. He loved it. They also make regular formula. check it out on diapers.com
He hated the Earths best formula...plus my cousin said earths best has an ingrediant in it that is toxic (she did alot of research)

What a pain:( I'm so sorry! Can you call the pediatrician and ask? Otherwise, I'd just go to the store and look at lables. MAYBE someplace like Whole Foods would have something if no one else does?

I agree with Stephanie S. Both my boys were allergic to milk and soy formulas. The only thing that worked for them (aside from pumped breast milk - the first wouldn't latch either) was Similac Alimentun. It's more expensive, but it is milk and soy free. Have a nice vacation!
