Ikea is a great place to start - brand new and really good prices and you can find a lot of baby stuff there including toys, stuffed animals, high chairs, etc.
Congratulations and good luck!
Does anyone know where I can find baby furniture that's not too expensive. I don't want to spend so much money of things that I won't be using for too long.
As of right now I need to buy a crib.
Any tips?
Thanks,
L.
I want to thank everyone who responded to my request. I will be going this weekend to a few places you ladies said, I am sure I will find what I need.
Thanks again,
L.

I have a white crib that I am taking to Divine Consign tomorrow afternoon. If you are interested, email me today! :-) I am asking $150 -- it is white with a drop side and drawer underneath. I have photos I can email you. It is very gender neutral.
Sweet Repeats Resale - Oct 3rd in McKinney at Trinity Presbyterian church on Virginia. One day only! always great deals! www.sweetrepeatsmckinney.org.
Divine Consign is having a sale in Plano this weekend. Here's the info from an email they just sent out:
Just a reminder that the Divine Consign event at the Plano Centre is coming up and it just so happens to be Tax-Free Weekend! All clothing and shoes will be tax-free.
We'll be open to the public Friday, August 21st from 9am-8pm for regular price day. Our half price sale will be Saturday, August 22nd from 9am-8pm. In addition, from 6-8pm on Saturday, all items marked with an "X" will be 75% off! We accept cash, check, Visa and MasterCard.
The Plano Centre is located at 2000 E. Spring Creek Pkwy, in Plano.
I totally understand! There is SO much to buy, you could spend a small fortune on it all! We got our crib at WalMart (not a place I usually shop), but the crib was rated #1 on Consumer Reports and it was $100!. Our daughter is now 19mo, still in the crib and it has been great. We will definitely be able to use it for the next baby too {whenever that may be!}. You could also try resale shops like Once Upon a Child or Kid 2 Kid, they usually always have furniture for sale there too. Congratulations & Good luck!
Hi L.,
I was just in Once Upon a Child Consignment Store in Plano this past weekend and they had so much baby furniture! Their prices are super low! They are located in Plano on the North West Corner of Legacy and Independence. You may give them a call and see what type of cribs they have in stock and get an idea of the prices. This is one of the larger baby consignment stores I have seen.
Good luck to you!
I have one for sale :) I should have it at my house in a few weeks (it's on a boat on it's way here from England). It is a Ragazzi sleigh crib. I am asking $400 for the crib and dresser together. Let me know if you want to see pictures and I can email them to you.
My advise would be to look on craigslist. I found a really good deal on baby furniture. You can purcase a set or just a crib. You have to be fast because the good stuff goes fast. Good luck.
Craig's List, Craig's List, Craig's List! I've gotten great things from Craig's List! ;-)

Check out Divine Consign this weekend at the Plano Center. It is a 3 day sale of gently used items. If you preregister as a new mom, you can go the first night and have pick of the best stuff. Go to DivineConsign.net. You will find everything you could possibly need or want there.
You didn't mention where you live but Devine Consign is taking place this weekend in Plano, TX. It is gently used baby furniture, clothes, toys, etc. The location is Plano Centre. The website for Devine Consign is devineconsign.net. It will give you the address and times.
I am also have a crib for sale. I am asking $150. Email me if you are interested. I have pictures I can send you.
Ikea has some very inexpensive cribs. I wish I had bought mine there - ours was from Babies R Us, and it was too expensive!
Search Craigslist.com
I went *crazy* the first time around buying things for my little princess! Second time around...I did things MUCH differently. Had to buy another crib because the first one was off white and ornate...and I was having a boy. Paid $800 first time around...and $225ish the second time around from Walmart. I bought it online. Great crib...super sturdy and matches perfectly with a dresser we used from our spare bedroom (we put a changing pad on top and PRESTO...wonderful nursery). Got all the bedding on MAJOR sale at Pottery Barn for under $125.
Craigslist and Divine Consign are other good bets! Good luck and congratulations! There is nothing more special than being a mom. :)
Target, Babies R Us, and Walmart have decent prices for good quality cribs.
If you want new, Walmart - they have a Carters brand there called Child of Mine (I think) - I paid $160 for our crib brand new and I LOVE it.
If you don't mind used, try Craig's List, Kid2Kid, or Once Upon a Time.
