Some Exposure for My Child

I would like to get my daughter into some sort of educational daycare program. I don't require childcare at this time (lucky, I know). But I feel there are alot of elements of preschool that she would not only enjoy, but thrive from. She just turned 2, literally. I know there are the bigger chains like Kindercare and that, but all the info you girls could give would be wonderful. Any recomendations? Also I would be interested in just part time. I work swing shift at a hospital. I don't go to work until 2:30pm. I like having her home with me though-of course. My husband gets off wor around 5 and picks her up at her grandparent's house. I also only work part time, not that it would require more or less child care... OK. You see. I have no idea what I'm doing with the whole preschool thing. I sooo need your guys's help!!! I guess the bottom line is. I could do very part time, very flexible days, afternoons, mornings, whatever. We are available because we don't actually require the "babysitting" factor. We want her to get to "go to school"
Thanks for your advice =)

So What Happened?

Thank you everybody so much for the advice. I think we are going to go the Co-op route. I had no idea what that even meant =) It is exactly what we were looking for. She will get to "go to school" a couple days a week for a couple hours. I will get to stay there with her and help. It should be great. It is just what I/she needs. Now to get into one! Thank you again to every one. Thanks Elise =) Wish us luck, M.

Hi there,
I took my daughter to a co-op preschool through Pierce College (you can find their info on the Pierce web site online catalog). Since you live in Puyallup as I do, they meet in Midland. It was a great experience though for her and me. It meets once a week for 2 hours in the morning. I think you can still register (I don't think the classes are full yet).
good luck,
C.

Okay, obviously I am biased here, but I have a preschool in my home. I see that you live in Puyallup, so I would not exactly be nearby, but perhaps you can look at my website and get some ideas...? Maybe I can at least help you know what to look for, I hope! www.myfathersgardenpreschool.com Blessings to you and yours! :)

If she just turned 2 don't rush things. Give it another year and when she's 3 or 3 1/2 put into something. She's just a little young unless you absolutely HAVE to have her someplace for childcare purposes. She's going to be big before you know it. Take this year to bond and let her play and have fun with mom. There is something to be said for mother's touch. I have run daycare and preschool and time and time again I see parents rush their child to grow up a little faster than they need to. If you really still want her in a program, check into co-op toddler group where you are present and involved in the class. She gets the interaction and stimulation you are seeking, but you aren't seperated from her just yet.
