There should be a way to appeale it. I would contact an attorny. You should be able to get assistance with an attorny through the county.
Hi, I was approved for Social Security in January 2008 because I have some medical issues and can't work anymore. Well, at first they told me I was going to have to pay to have Medicare Insurance and then they told me that I didn't have to and they were going to pay it for me so I didn't have to worry about it. Yesterday I received a letter from SS that said they have changed their mind and are not going to pay for my medical insurance anymore and it has started June 2008 and I have to pay the money back for the months of June, July and August and the money will be taken out from my September check and then they will start deducting monthly for my insurance after that. Now, I am pretty upset because it is August and they are just now telling me that they are not paying for the past three months. They never gave me any prior warning about this. I don't understand why they all of a sudden decided that they weren't going to pay for my medical insurance anymore either. I don't know how I am going to afford to live. I'm alone and have been raising two of my sisters children already and then she just passed away in June and now her other daughter has come to live with me and I'm in the process of getting custody of her now. So, I'm sick, can't work, trying to raise my sisters children and they are taking away my insurance. I really hope I made some sense here. I am so upset and can't sleep because I'm so worried and I know I'm rambling. Does anyone know anything about this type of thing who can give me some advice? Thank You in advance for any help you can provide.

I really don't know what to say. Maybe you should contact a lawyer who deals with just SS issues. So sorry about your sister passing, with her passing are you getting any SS benefits for her children? I hope things turn for the better, GL.
Whatever you do, DO NOT GO TO AN ELDER ATTORNEY!! It's a complete rip off! Have you looked into applying for Medicaid? With the amount of people in your house that you're supporting, there's a pretty good possibility that you would be approved.
